Dear Terry,
I worked with Ron at the LA Superior Court in the Family Court Services Department for many years.  He was a very dear friend and best of colleagues.  He was wise, insightful, and endlessly cheerful.  He will always have a place in my heat.

Dear Terry,

You might not remember us. My husband Simon, our then 13 year-old daughter Julia and I accompanied our friend John Reith, his sister Patti and friend and neighbour Bruce to a lovely lunch-and-drinks hosted by Ron and you at your handsome Palm Spring home Easter last year. 

It was such a lovely jolly occasion - you were so generous, friendly and welcoming, even if you hadn’t met us before. I remember Father Ron, with whom my husband had been worshipping during our stay at Arrowhead, proudly showing us his art collection, sharing his anecdotes, jokes and wisdom, and you your beautiful garden, your photographs and you ‘Cherokee’ ID cards. Your little dogs like two wonderful fluffy balls always in the background. Did you know that the small plant cuttings you gave us then are now fully-grown plants adorning our windowsill? A little bit of American desert at the heart of rainy England.

So it was with great sadness that we received belated news of your husband Ron’s passing. And as I understand it, Oddie passed away not too long after.

We just wanted to send you our deepest condolences and our love, and to wish you all the best for the future, Terry.

Ron had been on my mind recently, he just kept coming to mind. It happened again this evening and I sat down to see if I could find him on social media. I came upon mention of his passing and my heart just stopped and tears streamed down my cheeks. Ron was one of my closest friends during the ‘70s. He was very important to me and we saw each other through rough and wonderful times. He was the handsomest, funniest, kindest people I knew. My sincere condolences go to his husband, Terry and his family. He is free. 💔

My thoughts and prayers are with Ron's family.  Ron was the bright light at the Los Angeles Superior Court where we worked many years ago.  Every day, no matter how difficult it was, Ron stopped by our  office with a great big smile and a fun story.  He had the capacity to make us laugh,  We missed him when he left to work in the Riverside court but we never forgot him. I saw the news in the County Newsletter and I was hoping it wasn't true.
Ron, may you rest in peace, and God Speed.

Hi Terry, 

Words cannot express the sadness we feel about the loss of Ron.  Life at Four Seasons just won't be the same without Ron's presence.  Ron was the catalyst that brought so many diverse people in our Four Seasons community together. Everybody liked/loved Ron -- it was just a given!!  Ron's outgoing nature and his extremely generous nature made him stand out among our friends.  Although Bruce and I have only known you and Ron for a relatively short period of time, you have  become like family to us.  It is my hope that you will remain in our lives and that you will return to Palm Springs to help fill the emptiness/void  of Ron's passing.  We are here if you need us.

There is a void in the Episcopal Church Community. Ron has been a strong voice for those who otherwise might not be heard. We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and priest. His passing is an enormous loss for St. Richard's Lake Arrowhead. He was the embodiment of our core values of love and compassion and always challenged us to do more on behalf of the most vulnerable among us. He will be greatly missed! We will pray for comfort for all those for whom Ron's life was a gift. Peace and love to you Terry.

We are so blessed to have  to have u guys in our life. We cherish your friendship and always loved u both . We always loved hearing about the amazing places all over the world that u boy's been too and all the laughs and great food. I have many great memories with u and ron but one out of a bunch that makes me laugh is when Ron made us all a great salad and someone said how they love the croutons  and wanted to know where he got them , and Ron looked at him and said he just burnt toast in the toaster and broke them up over the salad! Ron and Terry u both have a heart of gold and we miss u Ron hobert.  It's always great time's with u, never any bad times. God bless u Terry  odie and dunken. We are so very happy to have shared some wonderful times with you and Terry. I could sit for hours and just listen to all the great story's you could share about all the amazing places you have seen.
