He was born in Camden NJ in 1926, to parents, Edith and Morris Goldman. He lived in Camden NJ until age 16, when he left for college at Rutgers, New Brunswick to study engineering. At age 18, he enlisted in the US Navy and served until June 1946, at which time he returned to Rutgers, this time as a business major, on the Newark Campus. He graduated in 1949 and married Rita Morrow, also of Camden and together they moved to North Jersey, where he continued to run the wholesale candy business, Dandy Candy, that he had formed in his last years of college.
In 1965, while still running the candy business, he began law school at Seton Hall Night division to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming an attorney. He graduated from Seton Hall Law School in 1969 and established a Debt Collection law firm, initially in Livingston and then in Montville NJ, which he ran until his retirement in 1972. He continued in his retirement to do the legal work that he loved, both as a mediator and arbitrator.
He was an avid runner, completing several marathons, loved the jersey shore, particularly when spending time there with family and friends. He and Rita loved to travel and were able to do so for many years, often with his grandchildren in tow. He and his wife were lifelong members of Temple Beth Shalom in Livingston.
He was predeceased by his wife Rita in 2016. He is survived by his 3 children, Stevan, Faith and Debby and their spouses Nina (married to Stevan) and Howard (married to Debby). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Leora Goldman Tapper (married to Mark Tapper), Isaac Goldman (married to Chelsey), Samantha Braverman and Jaime Braverman as well as 4 great grandchildren; Adi Tapper, Shay Tapper, Abigail Goldman and Rory Goldman.
