There are cousins and their are friends, K.P.  and I were both! 
The 1st memory I have of KP, (We were 3 or 4 years old, both of us  born in April 1936) was when KP, (the city boy of Georgiana,  ) his Mon and Dad, came to visit us at our farm. That made me the country boy. Why do I remember this encounter?
Well, when they came we had a white duck, that stayed in our very small pond.  When they left we no longer had a "White Duck".
While we were playing, KP had taken a pole and pushed the Duck
under water drowning it. We both got a GOOD talking to from our parents.  
In our younger days we hunted and fished together.  
Later years is was visitations. Since we were all getting quite a few years behind us, a couple of years ago I arranged 
"The Last Hunt" for cousins; KP, Bertie, Wesley and myself, hosted by Pat at his "man cave" in the deep woods of Butler County. We talked of times past, until well after midnight. As you know, KP was VERY GOOD at keeping a conservations going.
I'm glad we had that "Last Hunt", the last time we close cousins had that much quality time together.   Yes, we got one buck the next morning.
There was a poem that had this line in it, or a similar line. 
Life is like a ship upon the sea--there it is--you see it coming--
now its here--there it goes --now its gone.
Goodbye K.P., you had a good cruise! you will always be remembered,                Leroy
