Concordia De Jesus Bondoc

Ima was predeceased by her husband, Alfonso Malonzo Bondoc in 2008, byher son, Dr. Fernando Bondoc in 1984, and by her son in law Thomas C. Aring in 2015; and survived by her 5 children, Alejandro J. Bondoc , Manuel J. Bondoc, Victoria B. Lambengco (spouse Willy Lambengco), Remedios B. Aring and Mary Lou Almagro (spouse Dennis Almagro); by her 13 grandchildren, Atty. Ma. Anna B. Yap, Atty. Andrea Bondoc, Juan Alejandro M. Bondoc, Gitanjali B. Dizon, Atty. Nicolas F. Bondoc, Michael F. Bondoc, Stephen A. Aring, Kelly S. Coffman, Rafael B. De Leon, Miguel B. De Leon, Walter B. Lambengco, Winnito Bondoc, and Ashley Nicole Bondoc; by her 7 great grandchildren,Gillian B. Yap, Gaby Yap, Sofia Bondoc, Liam Aring, Aidan Aring, Gavin Bondoc and Garett Coffman; by her sister, Rosario Sonza; by her brothers, Mario de Jesus, Pascual de Jesus and Abraham de Jesus.

Ima immigrated to the United States in 1981, resided in Dallas, then moved to New Jersey. She was employed as a sales associate at Gucci, 5th Ave. in Midtown New York from 1981 to 1992. She was a favorite of Queen Sirikit of Thailand, who always requested for Ima when she shopped at the Gucci store. Ima moved to Anaheim California in 1993 to retire there until she passed away.

Ima was a multi faceted woman in her lifetime. By her stories, and from everyone's experience with her, she can only be described aptly with the following words:

Wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother , great grandmother, aunt, daughter in law, sister in law, best friend, ninang, comadre, business associate.

Beautiful, smart, strong, assertive, confident, independent, entrepreneur, self reliant, feisty, strong willed, principled, amazonian, insightful, caring, thoughtful, generous, full of wisdom, hospitable, quick thinker, survivor, war veteran, good memory, prayerful, religious, strong faith. And some Tagalog words that lack translations such as "madiscarte", "mapustura", "maabilidad', "makulit", and "makwento'.

She was a good entrepreneur. In her lifetime, she owned a Barber Shop, a grocery store with a liquor distributorship, a pillow

production and distribution sole proprietorship business, she traded in shoes, jewelry, PX goods, and home appliances, to help support the private education of 6 children who, at one given time, were all attending college.

Family and friends knew her as a great cook, a true Kapampangan woman "na sobrang masarap magluto", because her dishes were always seasoned with love and affection.

She was an avid gardener, whose green thumb always worked wonders to revive plants back to lush greenery. She loved tending to her flower gardens, her peonies, mums, birds of paradise, hibiscus, gardenias, begonias and succulents.

In our eyes, there will never be anyone like her. We love you Ima. And we will miss you. You will forever be in our hearts and minds for all that you have done and sacrificed for us.

A visitation for Concordia will be held Friday, February 14, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary, Waverly Chapel, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705. A funeral mass will occur Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705. A graveside service will occur Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
