Harriet Lois Wilson

The scheduled services will be postponed and held at a later date, so we can have a honorable celebration of life for Harriet in the future.

Harriet was born to Leonard William Sanguine and Addie Lucile Moyer. She grew up with eight sisters and brothers; Eva, Nora, Laura, Rena, Martha, Bill, Iris, and Burt in the small town of Havre, Montana. Harriet met Donald Herrick Wilson when he was working as a surveyor in Montana. They were married in Vernal, Utah on October 11, 1947. Harriet and Don lived in eastern Utah for a few years before settling in Rangely, Colorado where they raised their six children in the Chevron Oil Camp.

The Wilson’s were members of the “Pink Baptist Church”, as it was called, in Rangely for many years. Harriet was also an active member of the Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron in Rangely.

Don worked for Chevron USA and they were transferred to Snyder, Texas in 1971, then to Lakewood, Colorado in 1974, and back to Rangely in 1977. Harriet enjoyed the moves and always took pleasure in her new surroundings. Don and Harriet retired in 1986 and moved to Battlement Mesa, Colorado. After Don’s death in 2007, Harriet moved to the Denver area where many of her children and grandchildren live. Harriet was a skilled artist, who took pleasure in drawing and painting. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting, playing bridge, researching Native American artifacts and culture, and being a wife and a mother.

Harriet was proceeded in death by her husband, Don; her daughter, Susan; and her six sisters, Eva Beck, Laura Rudie, Nora Anderson, Rena Anderson, Martha Norby, and Iris Pfister.

Harriet is survived by her two brothers, Bill (Phyllis) Sanguine and Burt (Lilie) Sanguine; five children, Nancy Cameron of Mexico, Billie (Garry) Wilkening of Severance, CO., Lucy (Lyle) Anthony of Grand Junction, CO., Don (Gail) Wilson of Morrison, CO., and Jenny (David) Collins of Grand Junction, CO. Ten grandchildren, Jason (Tammy) Green, Kevin (Suzanne) Green, Amy (Michelle) Cervantez, Eric (Kristen) Wilkening, Julie Rasmussen, Lori Wilson, David Wilson, Dan Wilson, Lindsay (Grant) Kerven, and Kelsie Collins. Along with six great grandchildren, Kora, BreAnna, Cayleah, Ashley, Greyson, and Collins.
