Charles Edwin Comfort, of Raytown, MO, passed away on March 19, 2020, after 53 ½ years of marriage and just over 83 years on this earth. He was born in Columbia, Missouri, on February 15, 1937, to James Edwin Comfort and Elizabeth Meek Comfort. He graduated from Hickman High School in 1955 and earned a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Missouri in Columbia. He served in the Missouri National Guard for six years.
Charles married Suanne McDaniel in 1966; they had one daughter, Kelly Lynn Comfort. Charles worked as a test engineer at Vendo Corporation, at Fixtures Furniture, and was a safety engineer for USF&G Insurance Company.
Charles was an active member of Raytown Christian Church, serving as church elder, sound technician, an active supporter of the music ministry, treasurer for the H&H Sunday School class, and in other capacities. He also drove for Meals on Wheels for many years.
Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Lawrence Comfort.
He is survived by wife, Suanne of Raytown, Missouri; daughter, Kelly Comfort, of Houston, Texas; brother, Dr. George David Comfort of Mexico, Missouri; sister-in-law, Maria Comfort of Los Angeles, California and many nieces and nephews.
His remains were donated to Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
