Daniel Jay Foshee

Daniel Jay Foshee, 46, of Bartlett, Tennessee, died on March 21, 2020. He is survived by his wife Susan, his daughters Cordie Mae and Callie Jayne, his mother Sue Foshee, and his brother Cary Foshee. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Foshee.

Jay was a devoted husband and father to his wife of ten years, Susan, and to his two girls, Cordie and Callie. Jay’s biggest joy in life was his role of husband and father. Jay met the love of his life on May 19, 2007. He planned a magical marriage proposal at the Collierville Town Square for the evening that he finished his first semester of nursing school on December 12, 2008. Susan and Jay were married on June 12, 2009 in the midst of a tornado because nothing could keep the two of them apart. The next year they welcomed Cordie to their family, and two years later the birth of Callie completed their family.

In 2008, Jay made a life-changing decision to become a nurse. He graduated in April 2012 from Baptist College of Health Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In his 8 years of being a nurse, he worked on the CardioVascular Step Down unit of Baptist East and Methodist North Hospitals. While employed at Baptist, he was nominated for the Service First Award.

Jay was a master builder. He could make or build anything. Woodworking was his favorite hobby. He was known for handcrafting Christmas gifts for friends and coworkers. He also enjoyed doing home projects and helping others with their home projects.

To know Jay was to love Jay. He was one of the kindest and most loyal guys you could ever meet. He would drop anything he was doing if he felt like he could lend a hand to a friend in need. He would laugh with you, cry with you, and make you laugh until you cried. He had an infectious personality and could fit into any group. He will be missed by countless friends and coworkers.

Because of safety concerns in our current times, a graveside service will take place this week for immediate family only. A large celebration of life is planned for what would be his birthday on July 24th so that all of his family and friends can celebrate and remember his life.
