Fred G. Longoria

In 1952, Fred married Gloria Gaitan, in Omaha, NE. Gloria passed away July 28, 1975. On September 14, 1979, he married Ella Mae Hebert in Del City, OK.

Fred proudly served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant before his retirement in 1968. Fred taught hand-to-hand combat to enlisted personnel and General Officers, including General Curtis LeMay. He also led the Judo demonstration team on trips to Tokyo and around the world, achieving the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt. Following his military service, Fred managed the Wurtsmith AFB Commissary in Oscoda, MI and transferred to Tinker AFB Commissary in Oklahoma City, OK, where he retired in 1983. In 2000, Fred and Ella moved to Wichita.

After retirement, Fred and Ella enjoyed traveling and visiting family. Fred enjoyed dancing, playing cards, watching Westerns, boxing, and baseball. He loved cooking BBQ fajitas and above all spending time with his family.

Survivors include: his wife, Ella Longoria; children, Lynn and husband, Jim Dufresne, Victoria and husband, Duane Kunkel, Carol Fasbender, Natalie Longoria, Leslie and husband, Ric Coder, Fred Longoria, Jody and wife, Beverly Coker, Alana Coker, Lenny and wife, Linda Coker, Valerie Coker, Kevin Coker; 24 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Abbe and wife, Elizabeth Longoria, Joe and wife, Selena Longoria, Reuben Longoria.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gloria Gaitan Longoria; sisters, Mary Ann, Esther, Evangeline; brother, Ernesto; son-in-law, Jerry Fasbender; and granddaughter, Lauren Tolbert.

Private family inurnment will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Resthaven Garden of Memory, Wichita.
