Rudy passed away peacefully with his loving wife Lila, daughter Anna and son David by his side. He was born in South San Francisco, CA and moved to Roseville in 1949. He graduated from Roseville High School in 1952. After attending Sierra College in Rocklin, CA for a short time, he joined the U.S. Navy and served his country for 4 years during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Prairie, a destroyer tender, where he spent time in Japan. Upon his return home, he attended American River College and graduated in 1960 with an AA degree in Electronics. His education garnered him a career with the U.S Department of Defense where he worked at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA as an Electronics Technician.
He retired with 30 years’ service on 12/31/88. He was an avid golfer and joined a number of golf clubs where he participated in many tournaments. He carried a 10 handicap during his earlier years and won the Third Place Bronze Medal in the Northern California Golf Association Senior Net Championship 1997- President’s Flight. Rudy also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and toured many miles around the country with his son Rudy and friends. He loved football and was an avid S.F. 49ers fan.
In their retirement years Rudy and Lila traveled extensively on road trips around our country and enjoyed cruising. They cruised through the Panama Canal, Tahitian Islands, Hawaiian Islands, Mexican Coast, East and West Caribbean, East Coast from New York to Nova Scotia, and their favorite destination was four voyages to Alaska.
He is survived by his loving wife Lila of 51 years, daughter Anna (Rob), sons Rudy and David and his brothers Joe Quesada, grandson Travis Guerrero-Fish, Myles Maskovich (Toni), Shelly Winner, and four great-grandchildren, Delaney, Conner, and Owen Maskovich, and Jase Winner, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Frank Guerrero, George Ellis, and step-son Ron Maskovich (Liz). Private services were held on May 22, 2020 at Lambert Funeral Home in Roseville, CA, following the burial at Roseville Cemetery District.
