One of my favorite  memories with Boppa is listening to old Elvis recordings together…  It was as if the music would cut through all the noise and connect the wild rock n roll that I love with his loving and caring side.  He was a highly conscious person and I later learned that the music was not really necessary but helped me to be completely present in the moment with him.  So glad that we were able to share such special moments together.  Thanks for the guidance, inspiration, incredible memories, and life that you´ve given me.  You will be greatly missed. 

To Mary and Family:
I think my sister Tammy said it all for the Earl Family and me.  We loved all the wonderful memories we made between the two cottages in Elk Rapids.  We loved Paul and all the Thompson Family.  Paul was such a kind and gentle giving man who will always be remembered by our Family.  The one funny memory I have of Paul was a number of years ago my brother Bob and I had grabbed my sister Tammy by her arms and legs at our cottage and were carrying her to the bay to to throw her in.  She was screaming at the top of her lungs.  Paul came running over thinking something had happened to  Tammy offering to call 911 for us.  The poor guys was so worried.  We were laughing so hard and struggling with her it took us a bit before we could get out what we were up to,  We felt so bad we gave him such a scare.  But that was Paul, caring and always to the rescue.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all the Thompson's  and I give you one big wrap around hug.  Paul will be missed.  May he rest in peace.  Cherish your memories  of a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and for me a true friend.  Love Jo

Paul and his family will forever be remembered and loved by our family. We have so many wonderful memories of our summertimes on Grand Traverse Bay. It all started with the Earl family day camping on their newly purchased lot next to the Thompson’s cottage. Paul and Paula became fast friends with my parents, Jim and Joyce. Paul and Paula were so welcoming to this family of “beach campers.”  Later, after Paula passed and Paul married Mary Lou, my parents and my family along with my sister continued the up north friendships. We shared many memories between Paul and Mary Lou’s blended family and my own. We will always remember sitting around the many beach campfires sharing drinks and laughs, the boat trips to the shipwreck, the restaurants on the deck that Lindsay, Kylee and Sydney made for their grandparents, Paul always commenting on Sydney’s sparkling blue eyes, cocktails on the deck, and the sharing of special family news with each other such as Dave and Jenny’s engagement. So many wonderful memories with the kindest and most gentle soul we have ever known. Paul was special and will be missed by all who lives he touched. Thinking of his family and praying for peace and comfort. Love you all.

Dear Thompson family,
Paul was one in a million, kind-hearted and thoughtful.  Marylou and Paul were the 1st to lend a hand when my parents got sick and the Lenn family will never forget their kindness.  Paul, we know you are in heaven looking out for all of us.  Our sincerest condolences to the Thompson Family.

Condolences to the entire Thompson family on the loss of Paul. He is my dad’s brother, my uncle, former employer, and in later life, a friend. I have all positive memories of him. He was the most loving son to my grandparents. I have yet to meet a person who watched after and took care of his parents more than he did.
