Dad, thinking of you always, especially on this first anniversary of your passing. We love and miss you so much❤

I met Forrest when I was in high school in 2000 when he came to PA for Christian's graduation. He was always such a kind, quiet, gentle and caring man and I think Christian took after him in those ways. When Christian, me, and my other friends would visit Florida, Forrest would always treat us to a delicious shrimp and scallop dinner at Inneratity Point. His kindness is a wonderful memory.

Though we now live, most of the time, half a world away, my wife still remembers having a dinner at a restaurant in DeFuniak Springs in 1975.  At the time she was my girlfriend of only a few weeks.  I was living in Tallahassee for a few months and she was an art student at FSU.  All these decades later while walking on the beach today in Clearwater she happened to remember that day.  That's not unusual.  She mentions the same memory every few years.  "Forrest and Judy were very nice to me that afternoon".  We were a new couple and Mary was still making a little judgement now and then by the people I knew - however briefly - in DeFuniak.  Thank you Forrest and Judy.  You helped me pass the test.  

After our walk today I thought to Google Forrest Windham and was shocked to find his obit.  We are the same age.  "That's him!", Mary said when she saw the photo.  Forty-five years later after that one brief afternoon dinner she remembers Forrest as a very kind man.  Obviously, we have never forgotten you.     

I am Forrest’s brother-in-law.  He lived with Twla  and me the first year or so of our marriage.  We were close.  It’s just like him to go on without saying “ Goodbye”.  He was strong minded and pocessedthat indomitable Windham spirit.  He was my friend.  Catch you on the flip-flop For-,eest.

Dad was the best. He was simple and laid-back, and I think that is what most will remember about him. His grandchildren were his world in the last 12 years of his life, and we are all going to miss him very much. I know he is sitting in a rocking chair somewhere just taking it easy, knowing that we love him and miss him already.

You have left us much before your time. Memories are many and it is sad that is now all that remains. I will be missing you Brother. 

Forrest and I grew up together. Although he was my uncle I felt as if we were siblings. We were not close for many years but I know that he held a special place in my Grandma’s heart. He will be missed. I send my love and prayers to all the family. 

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Forrest.  Forrest and I were childhood friends so I have many fond memories of us growing up together.  I'm thankful I had the opportunity to talk with him one more time a week before his death.  I will miss my friend Forrest.  Rest in peace.
