To all of Joy's family members

I know you all are experiencing a great loss.  Joy was such a special person.  She knew so much, was interested in so much, and shared so much with people.
She had so much perspective on what was going on. I will miss talking to her- hearing about the latest book she read, about an opera she remembered, and about what her life was like when she was young.
I know you all were so important to her.  I remember her painting the design on the leather jacket for her granddaughter, her designing Kyra's wedding dress, and her drawing and writing stories for her grandson  ... And of course there was the cooking of her specialty foods that she loved to prepare and then enjoy with you.
She loved spending time with you and she was so proud of all of you.


Miss Joy will surely be missed. She was mine and my brother Steve’s God Mother. We lived with the Vernacchio family for several years. Miss Joy would always correct my grammar and tell me to keep my elbows off the table. I hated it then but really appreciate it now. I can only hope that she is happy dancing with Mr. Ed. Steve and I  will always be grateful for Miss Joy and Mr. Ed for including us in their family. 

Miss Joy, was an Angel on earth. With her God giving gift of art. She shared her artistic gifts with my daughters. I remember her love of Opera music. She touch my family in many ways. She will be deeply  missed. My Deepest Sympathy  especially to Melanie my dearest friend and her family I love you so much ❤️❤️

Joy and I met when I was i8 and she was26. Were friends for many years even when we moved away from each other. We always kept in touch. We took trips togather, visited whenever we cou!d. I loved her like asister. I will miss her beauty and her many talents. Heart  broken tonight.

The first thing I think of in remembering Miss Joy was her laugh.  Then a picture of her and Mr. Ed dancing. They loved to dance and had the attention of everyone in the room when they did.  She had a creative soul and I was fortunate enough to have seen many of her creations; from Christmas ornaments, lacy angels and wedding veils,  to her beautiful paintings and drawings.
Growing up and playing with her three children provided the opportunity to go into their home and always be greeted with the heavenly smell of homemade pasta sauce simmering on the stove!
Although our families grew apart when we moved away from the city, she and my mom continued their special friendship throughout the years. 
Many good memories still linger in my mind of all the special times our families shared together.
She will be missed.  My heart and sympathy go out to her children and grandchildren.
