My son died 2 years ago today. As time goes by it’s even harder on me at least. I miss Jason every day his texts every single morning. He did more lifting me up then I did him I felt like. He just was a very special kid even though he was 42. He will be missed by our family and remembered by us and or him sure for ever. I love you my son I couldn’t have been more proud of you jay. We can't believe it's been a year since we last saw you our precious Jason. We will never forget your contagious smile, your "booming" voice, and your giant heart so full of love. Your fierce love of family is an example to all of us. We will someday see your bold witness to friends, family, and strangers result in many more added to God's kingdom. I can’t believe it has been a year since I have talked to my sweet nephew Jason. I am so thankful for our conversations we had throughout his short life, however, they were so powerful! His big and loving personality resonated  through him and will never be forgotten. His song he loved was “How Great is Our God” and now he is in heaven with his great God who protected him all his life. Love you Jason and we are so thankful to have your brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews and your beautiful kids too! And of course your mom and dad. 🥰 

Still can’t believe you’re gone. So many memories flood my mind...times you were a pain in the butt, times when you made me laugh and times when you told me things would work out between J and myself.  God put you in our lives for a reason. I’m glad we had that time. You are missed by so many. Pray for us down here! Peace, my friend. 

So many thoughts, so many emotions.  The hole in our hearts is so big. It's so hard to express the crushing loss of you being gone, balanced with the joy of the new man you became our precious Jason. I remember our last conversation explaining as Christians we are not perfect, always overcoming our humanity; but we have been and will always be forgiven, and pure before God. The choice to run hard pursuing the new life Christ gave you was so amazing to watch. The transformation was seen by friends, family, and strangers. God's plans are so hard to understand, and we can only accept them. Praying that the seeds of love you planted in your family will continue to grow.  We love you with all our hearts. We will miss you until we meet again.

I just wanted to add that my brother Jason did get right with the Lord before his time was up, so he did heed that word from the Lord to him....
 May everyone else also heed that word that God gave to me for Jason...

Jason did take down many giants and the enemy before his time was up, so well done Jason...
Now Jason will be helping me to fight/battle/war in the spirit/supernatural as me and others take a stand against the enemy and death, to where we will no longer tolerate the enemy and spirit of death anymore...
Jason was my bodyguard and the protector of the McKays, now he is protecting me in the spirit/supernatural...

I am jasons momma. My son has gone through a lot in his short life. But he made a big impact in his life. He made a lot of mistakes in his life. I will miss him dearly he was my little boy. I told him i will love him forever no matter what he has done or will do. My heart is broken right now. But i do know one day well be walking together on the streets of gold in heaven. That is exactly what I wrote him back then and it came to pass... God knew time was short in his life, so wanted to wake him up back then to get right with the Lord before his time was up...
I wrote that in a book called His battle Gods plan for victory...

I was blessed to have known the McKay family thanks to my cousin Christin.  Jason an I had some fun times together. He was a proud dad and a good friend. He would give me advice alot when I needed a guys perspective. You gained your wings a little to soon why we will never understand. I still can't believe your gone. My prayers go out to all of you.

Riley, Quardi and Gage - words cannot express the pain and hurt you are feeling, and my deepest condolences for you three. And also to John and Tish, you guys raised some amazing McKay men and women. To all the nieces and nephews, he loved the times he spent with you, and he secretly probably enjoyed it more than you did. We all know Jason was a big kid at heart. I had the pleasure of knowing your dad for a lot of years and I can say it was truly my pleasure. No matter how many days, months or years it was between the times that I saw him, he always gave me one of those “Jason” hugs. And then he would immediately start to talk about his kids, and you could just feel the love he had for you guys. I remember one conversation we were having about you three and he says, “you know there is no parenting manual,” and he couldn’t have been more right. You guys might not have always felt it, but you were the loves of his life, and he had no problem letting anyone around him know it. He always had a way of finding the good in every situation, and he lived life to fullest. He didn’t always walk on the straight and narrow path, but he always found his way back. He made mistakes in his life and he was the last one to deny that, but he was a genuine and good man, and you should be proud to call him your father.  They always say God has a plan for everything, and how ironic that he was baptized just before he was taken from this earth. No one will deny that he lived a rocky life, but in the end he knew where he was going. So if I could be like Jason and find something good out of this horrible and tragic situation let it be this, he made mistakes in life so you guys don’t have to. And always live life remembering that he loved you three from the first day he laid eyes on you. Even without a manual.

Jason was always smiling while he was working and waving and if he was close enough, he would speak and say enjoy your day! My grandson Ryder loved when Jason came around! They always spoke and waved to each other as well! We were all sad to hear of his passing!

We did not know Jason, but our hearts hurt for all of you.  Riley spoke highly of him.  His brother John mentioned him many times.    May God Bless you all in your grief and guide you.

Riley, Diquardi, and Gage I am so sorry to hear about your dad.  I remember him coming to pick you up after school. He was always very pleasant and in a great mood. He had an amazing sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.  Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I snuck into a senior party with my friend. We were scared we'd get noticed and kicked out, so we etched along, hiding in the shadows, like in a 'Pink Panther' movie. :) Luckily, I saw my BFF's brother, Jason, dancing, trying to make everyone laugh. I leaped, hoping he would have pity on a poor freshmen,  & awkward too.  I was scared he might throw me out, but Jason gave me that WARM 'Jay Rae' smile, let me dance a little, then shooed me over to the corner to stay safe, where he could keep an eye on me. I was thrilled I didn't get ran out of the party & felt safe cause Jason was there.  We ended up looking up at the stars at the end of the night & he shared that he LOVED Michelle, so very much, that his heart was heavy. We talked about God, asking him to take care of the things that we were too small to handle, and continued to stare God's masterpiece.  What young 17 year old keeps an eye on a awkward 'dweeb' at a party, then ends it with talking about his love for his older sister & our Father Above? The McKay men are a rare breed. Father's, Husbands, Providers, God fearing & Resilient. It makes the devil mad.  May the Lord Jesus provide double their trouble & May we all love FIERCLY like Jason.  Thank you, brother!

Ill never forget his powerfull hugs. A shy and timid soft hug was unacceptable in his eyes. He would always pull you in strong and tight. Ill miss you Jason, and ill see you when i come join ya.

In high school, I remember how surprised my sister Daiquari  & I both were when we realized she was dating my best friend  Deborah's older brother Jason (J Ray) McKay.  It was clearly by God's hand because later they brought my amazing neice Quardi into the world.  Our families have always been connected & always will be.  Oh, And his long hair... I'll never forget his long hair back then 😄  So PROUD of the man you became Jason & the example you were setting for your family & the world.... that God is a faithful God who forgives & redeems!  See you in heaven one day brother!

I remember vividly CABA 13 year old World Series against Hawaii Jason was literally flying in the outfield stretched out parallel to the ground catching in the tip of his glove a line drive that would have won the game for them. As his coach I was so proud of him - I turned my head and tears filled my eyes with pride.  Today my eyes are filled again but with sadness for his passing.
