I remember we would always go shopping together. She would park at the furthest parking space because she would not want anyone to park beside her. She would also say we need the exercise.😂 It will never be the same without her. She is an amazing grandmother and I’ll miss her, but she will always be here watching over me. 

I remember when Mamaw would always take us shopping, just because we wanted to get out of the house. After we would get done, she would take me and Layla out to eat and just spoil us every chance she got. Not only was Mamaw one of the BEST grandmas ever, but she was a friend to everyone. She will never be forgotten. I’m so glad that you are no longer in pain. Rest easy~Taylor ❤️

I met Karen in the 70s. What a Wild time to live in. Karen was so Beautiful and Sophisticated! She was a World traveler to me  - Dang her and Mac had lived in Alaska!! She became a close Friend immediately. She welcomed me into her home and heart. I quickly lost count of the weekends at her house,  cooking out or in. Seemed everyone always ended up there. We lived thru the Moter Cycle riding times, the Custom Van days, the Hot Pants days, the Disco days and sitting around playing guitars & singing days. What fun times we had!! And made Wonderful Memories!! I'm thinking now that Karen Anne may have actually created OCD. She had a place for everything and she kept it there. Even when we'd camp out,  she always had anything you might have forgot to bring. Organized at that. Our Jobs/Careers kept us apart for years. Then children and grandchildren. But Karen never left my heart. I thought of her often. And we'd reach out to each other every few years and pick up where we left off and get caught up. She will be greatly missed in this world. But she's as Beautiful, Sweet, Graceful and Loving in Heaven! 
Mac, his sons, grandchildren and Family will always be on my mind and in my Heart and Prayers 🙏 May God Bless.

I remember going out to your parents house with Hope's family.  I remember  your mom enjoying watching you guys play music.  We all had good times at your parents house.  Your family Jack ,Jeff and your father are in my prayers.  Bless your whole family.  I'm so sorry.

What a lot of Memories, these times bring to us all.  I remember the first time I met Karen Ann. I heard a roar and a Harley with a long haired skinny dude pulled up the hill to my house on Vine. Off jumped a tiny, dark haired beauty, with a contagious smile.  I never dreamed that day that she would become my southern sister, and that we would share the births of our children and a mother-in-law and father-in-law that loved Karen like their own daughter. I remember many fun times at Sardis Lake with our families.  
Karen was my sister in God's eyes and even the last couple times that I spent with her while she was ill, she kept a bright outlook and always had a quick wit about her.  I was amazed each time how positive of an attitude she had.  She is with God, and while she will be missed so much here by those who loved her, she is where we all hope to be one day.  My love to Ricky, Jake and Jeffery and all those whose lives will be altered with her passing. 

My beautiful grandmother. Where do I begin? I will always remember going over to your house to decorate pumpkins or Easter egg hunt. Everyone used to call me “little Karen”. You taught me in order to be a McDonald woman...you always put others first. You took care of great Mamaw when she needed you most. You did the same for me and my sisters. We used to go shopping for school supplies and you would buy at least half of the list. You would take me shopping for school clothes. We would make Christmas cookies. Every year you had a seafood dinner for Christmas and I wouldn’t leave the table until all the crab was gone. The best memories that you have are the little ones that you don’t pay attention to. I remember picking flowers in your garden.  I love you mamaw and I am so happy that you are no longer hurting. Rip forever -Lily

I met Karen when I married into the family many years ago.  We use to spend almost every weekend at Karen and Ricky’s house, playing cards, watching SNL, listening to the guys sing and play guitars. We also had a lot of good times in WaterValley at family get togethers. On Saturday Karen took her last breath on earth and her first breath in heaven and we will see her again one day. Until then my prayer is that God will give her family strength and peace in days ahead.  Love you Karen RIP ✝️

Karen was one of my best friends along with Doris , Bettye and several others. I have too many great memories to narrow it down to one. Even though we lost touch in the past few years she will always be a woman and friend that I looked up to and loved. RIP Karen.

I first met Karen McDonald about 10 years ago at her brother n laws place in como. I remember she brought homemade chicken n dumplings for lunch, it was absolutely delicious!!   To this day I compare all chicken n dumplings to hers. “Haven’t had any better yet!”My deepest condolences to all her family... 

I didn't spend a lot of time with Karen & her family but those moments were excellent.  Karen welcomed me and my husband, Pat and my son, Joseph with open arms into her home so sweetly.  I'll always remember our kids playing together on those RV weekends on the McDonald property and the BBQ parties.  Good times!
As we arrive to our golden years we realize how precious our friends are to us and wish we had MADE the extra effort to visit frequently.

I first met Karen when I was 15 years old, she soon married my first cousin Rick,   I have so many good memories of Karen to many to list, we enjoyed cooking out with them and camping we spent most all holidays with them, but the things I remembered most about her was what a hard worker she was what a great cook she was how she loved to garden both flowers and vegetables, she was always so polite and kind to all our family. I remember helping our grandmother make fudge and divinity our arms were so worn out. I will truly miss her, I guess God needed another Gardner to help with all the beautiful flowers in Heaven I know she will be with us in spirit.

Karen was such a huge part of my life growing up ... She always made me feel so loved and so welcome... Whenever I spoke, she stopped and listened attentively and actually cared about what I had to say ... She gave me so much advice in my early teens. She was in many ways another Mom to me growing up... I know one thing and that is she loved her family deeply and UNCONDITIONALLY and I learned so much about what a "normal" family should look like by watching her every weekend as I went over with my Mom to cookout or camp or even to go to one of Jake or Jeffrey's T-ball games. I will always hold her in a  special place in my heart and will cherish my memories of her forever... R.I.P.  Aunt Karen .. I love you and will never ever forget you <3 

My heart is breaking for Rick and Jake and Jeff and all the grandchildren ... I am so sorry for their loss ... I know no words can ease their pain but through so much loss I have always tried to think that our loved ones are always everywhere around us ... so remember that she's in the sun, the wind, the rain. She's in the air you breathe with every breath you take. You will see her in the clouds and feel her whisper words of love. In your dreams, you will feel her there ... For her now there is no more pain and no more fear and she is with many that she held so very dear ... In laughter and in sorrow, In sunshine and through the rain... She will be watching over you all until you meet her again... I love you all very very much <3 

My beautiful mother!  I’ll never be the same, but I know you will always be with me.  You were such a loving mom and grandmother and would give anything you could for the happiness of those around you. My friends used to ditch me to hang out with you instead.  That’s how great you were.    I’ll never forget the Thanksgiving mishaps. It seemed like every Thanksgiving, something horrible, but hilarious would happen.  Like the accidental dishwashing soap in the dishwasher that covered the kitchen floor with soap suds 3 feet deep.  Or the chocolate eclair pies you made that we’re mistaken for yams.  You put the wrong pan in the oven and baked the pudding.  😂. We died laughing every Thanksgiving due to some sort of catastrophe, but that’s what made you so amazing. You could take a bad situation and find some humor in it.  I will miss you forever and my heart will hurt for a very long time, but that’s okay.  You are with Jesus now and in paradise with no more pain.  For that, I’m grateful.  I love you mom.  Thank you for teaching me how to be a good, loving dad.  Your values that you instilled in me will be with me forever and for that, I’ll be forever thankful.  You always were an angel on earth and you have finally been given your wings.   Rest In Peace my dear mother.  ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ 


Karen was the most generous person I know she was always there and was a family person. She would always make you feel loved and welcome in their home. I remember she would always say our home is your home. When I was small my dad, mom and I would go to their home sometimes cause they would have fish fries. I didnt like fish so karen would go out of her way to fix  me a burger and fries.  We will miss her she was a great kind hearted person.
God has call his angel home. We are sending prayers for the family.

My heart goes out to the family. I know Randy would be there for you if he could. I remember when I was in  9th grade and Rick and Karen got married. They were the first couple in our old neighborhood I can remember getting married. I thought it was so cool.  May you all be comforted with all the wonderful memories you created in so many years together.  Take care.

I met Karen in high school, we became best friends and were very close for many years.  I saw her children grow up and she was an amazing Mom.  We all would go camping, boating or just hang around together.  She and I would do all types of canning and made some pretty good jellies and pickles.  We all would go to concerts including seeing Billy Joel perform before he was famous. A very funny story about Karen and I trying to make sangria wine...we cut up all the fruits and mixed our ingredients into our wine, then we were going to drain all the fruit out...we put the colander in the sink and proceeded to drain...only we forgot to put a bowl in the sink and all the wine, of course, went down the drain! We both just looked at each other and fell in the floor laughing so hard we could not even get up!  We had so many great times and I will miss her dearly.  RIP Karen! 💔

My mother ALWAYS let me know when she was proud of me, so I always strived to do everything positive and good that I could do because my reward was hearing my mother say,"I am so proud of you" , and it melted my heart. To see her smile just made my day.
