Visitation will be held at 4pm – 7pm, Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at Bayside Community Mortuary, 1610 Noche Buena Street, Seaside, California. Funeral Service will be held at 11am Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 1475 La Salle Avenue in Seaside. Burial will follow the funeral at Seaside Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Bayside Community Mortuary.

Sennie was born June 30, 1938, in Angeles City, Philippines, to the late US Army Sgt. Rodrigo and Juanita (Francisco) Alonzo. She was the second of six children and the only daughter. In 1956, Sennie left the Philippines with her family to Tacoma, Washington. The family eventually moved to Seaside, California.

In 1962 Sennie married Ben Samson and two children were born of that union; daughter, Lailah; and son, Daniel. The family resided in Seaside and Santa Cruz. Sennie worked as a Banquet Server at Pebble Beach Lodge for forty-four (44) years.

One of Sennie’s greatest joys was the game of baseball. She was an avid San Francisco Giants fan. She would watch the ball games donned in her SF Giants gear and had a contagious way of calling the games as others marveled at her baseball knowledge. Sennie loved gardening and had a collection of beautiful and colorful orchids and roses in her yard. This was a reflection of how warmly she nurtured the relationships of each person who entered her life. Sennie loved spending time with family, laughing and always had a keen interest in how everyone was doing. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first. Her generous ways and thoughtfulness sets her apart from many.

Sennie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jesus and Eugene, and her only son, Daniel. She leaves, to cherish her loving memory, her husband, Ben; daughter, Lailah (Angie); brothers, Richard (Irma), William, Robert (Leilani) and her grandson, Brandon, two great-granddaughters and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
