Andy Rue Tucker

Funeral services for Andy Rue Tucker will be held on Friday, June 26th, 2020 at 2:00pm at Oaks-Mission School Gymnasium in Oaks, OK with Reverend Bill Pettit and Brother Choogie Kingfisher officiating. Interment will follow at Bill Batt Cemetery in the Rocky Ford Community. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25th, 2020 from 1:00pm until 6:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Pallbearers for Andy include Johnny Smith, Jonathan Smith, Oodie Cummings, Adam Reese, Dink Cummings, Mark Loco, Eddie Loco, and Jerry Hansen. Honorary pallbearers will be William Chewey, Choogie Kingfisher, Tim Kingfisher, and Jamie Jones.

Andy Rue Tucker was born May 27th, 1956 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Sequoyah and Mary Ann (Chewey) Tucker. A country boy at heart, he was raised in the Oaks area and a graduate of Oaks-Mission High School. He was no stranger to hard work, building fences for many years. When he wasn’t working on fence line, he took great pride caring for his lawn. He loved to mow on his zero turn mower and would even mow in wintertime. Andy was proud of his Cherokee heritage. He had a collection of ball caps with intricate beadwork and loved all things tribal themed. Sports could always be found playing on the television. Though he loved watching all sports, his favorite had to be fast pitch softball and baseball, particularly the Cleveland Indians. Nothing made him prouder than seeing his boys and grandsons at the softball fields and was their biggest fan. Andy was the type of man that everyone loved to be around and had a way of bringing laughter to those around him. A bit of a jokester, no one could escape being drawn into a good pun or two. He was always sporting the biggest smile and never met a stranger. There wasn’t anything bad that could be said about Andy, just a genuine, good-hearted soul. A Christian by faith, he was a member of the New Mission Baptist Church where he married his best friend, JoAnn Fields on October 3rd, 1998. Andy was called home on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020 at the age of 64. The joy and laughter he brought will be remember by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Joseph Lee Tucker, two brothers, Tommy Lee Smith and Johnson Tucker, one sister, Betty Kingfisher and one grandchild.

He is survived by JoAnn Tucker of the home, sons, Jogg Fields and wife Sarah of Chouteau, OK, Cory Lee Tucker and wife Wynter of Tahlequah, OK, Todd Alen Tucker of Tahelquah, OK and Elijah Eric Tucker also of Tahlequah. He leaves one brother, Houston Smith and wife Ruth of Castle, OK and one sister, Pat Reese and husband Joe of Tahlequah, OK. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren, Carter Tucker, Brayden Tucker, Chandler Tucker, Evan Bearpaw, Sophia Fields, Rylan Tucker, Janie Fields, Taron Tucker, Sylas Fields, and Hudson Tucker who is due to arrive this September, along with many nieces, nephews and a numerous friends and loved ones.
