Fred Stouffer

Fred Stouffer, age 86, of Maxwell, Iowa passed away at his family farm on Friday June 26, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. A Graveside service with Navy Funeral Honors will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peoria Cemetery in Maxwell, Iowa. Please join the family at Stouffer’s Acres following the graveside for a Celebration of Life.

Fred was born April 23, 1934 in Colfax, Iowa. His parents were John and June (Streeter) Stouffer. He proudly served the Navy from 1950-1954 aboard the USS Hanson DD-832 during the Korean War. He met Donna and they were married from 1954-1985. Later he met, Karen, and they were blessed to spend 24 years together. Fred was a retired farmer, but during his life he worked at Safeway, American Playing, Don and Fred’s DX, and lastly, Massy Ferguson.

Fred loved spending time on the farm with his wife, as well as the grandkids. He and Karen also enjoyed traveling to different states visiting other family and friends. Fred loved to fish and hunt with family and friends, and was considered an excellent pool player. His prized possession was his 1957 Chevy Bel-Air painted cherry red.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Karen; daughters, Gayle (Matt) Clifford of Indianola, Iowa and Janet (Steve) Hartley of Richmond, Virginia; step-children, Michael (Sadie) Dolph of Georgia, Nate (Nina) Dolph of Georgia, Jonathan (Autumn) Dolph of Iowa, Nichole Dolph (Jerry) of Iowa, daughter in law, Tina, mother of Teddy; grandchildren, Amy Allston, Kimberly Kelsey, and Emily (Tony) Castelvecchi; Makinzie, David, Cecilia, Faith, Teddy, Allyn, Angelica, Kadence, Tanoa, Colton, Oakley, Jeremiah, Christian, and Delilah; five great grandchildren, Christina, Hailey and Elizabeth Allston, and Virginia and Audrey Castelvecchi. Fred was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna; his parents; and one brother, Bob.
