Tomasa “Tommie” Canales entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at her residence in Sullivan City, Texas surrounded by her family. She was born on March 7, 1926 to Manuel Ramirez and Vernardina Ramirez in San Ygnacio, Texas. Tommie was blessed with 94 years of life where she lived mostly in Hebbronville, Tx where she was able to make many wonderful memories with her big family to cherish forever. She was a very defiant woman, always there to lend a helping hand, who always greeted you with a cooked meal at her home and always loved to have an orange soda.
Tomasa is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ramiro and Jose Ramirez; sister, Hilda Martinez; her husband, Horacio Canales; two grandsons, John Jason Lerma and Jesus Manuel Munoz and Granddaughter, Francine Canales.
She is survived by her seven sons, Horacio (Delia) Canales, Hector Canales, Joel (Rosalinda) Canales, Heriberto (Leticia) Canales and Carlos (Silvia) Canales all of Hebbronville, Texas, Noe (San Juanita) Canales of Odem, Texas and Ricardo (Maria) Canales from Houston, Texas; six daughters, Araceli (Demetrio) Carpentier, San Juanita (Oscar) Reyna, and Linda Canales all of Hebbronville, Graciela (Enrique) Torres and Sandra Muñoz from Houston and Glenda (Ricardo) Espinoza from Sullivan City, Texas; brother, Heberto B. Ramirez; sister, Francisca Garza; 51 grandchildren; 114 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
