Richard J. Gardner

Richard Joseph Gardner was born May 8th, 1950 in Manchester, New Hampshire. His parents were Robert A. Gardner, Sr. and Mary Theresa Kazanowski. He had two brothers Brian Michael Gardner and Robert Arthur Gardner Jr. and has a sister Maureen Patricia.

His Dad was in the Air Force so Richard had lived in New Hampshire, Georgia, Oklahoma, New Foundland and settled in Maryland when he was 7 years old.

He went to Georgetown University and graduated from University of Maryland. He worked at Verizon until he retired in 2003.

Richard and Cheryl married in 1975 and had two sons Brendan Michael and Martin Alexander.

He very much enjoyed summer vacations at Ocean City, Maryland every summer. Playing arm-chair quarterback with his sons and nephews. He looked forward to golf trips and his yearly trips to old baseball stadiums with his brother and friends.

Best of all he adored his grandchildren and great grandchild.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl, his sons Brendan and Marty, his grandchildren Jorgia, Nikaila, Martin, Maya, Jamia, Noelle, Nicholas , and their mother Nneka; Bella, Ava, Chloe and their mother Charity, his great-grand son Noah. His sister Maureen and brother-in-law John, his niece Jennifer and nephews Paul , Jonathan, John David, Matt, and Aaron. His sister-in-laws Lynne and Andie and mother-in-law Jean and many friends. .
