Alejandro Ruelas Torres, age 89, passed away July 7, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. Alejandro was born in a small mining town named Malakoff.

He attended Crozier Tech High and in 1950 enlisted and served four years in the U.S. Navy while stationed in Hawaii. He was the family patriarch after the loss of his parents in hosting and preparing for the family annual festive gatherings. He is known for baking his famous jello bunt cake and pies. A year did not go by when he wasn’t hosting the annual festivities such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s for the family. He is fondly remembered for his beautiful acapella voice and inviting smile. He loved classic Broadway movies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vicente and Manela Torres; brother, Rodolfo Torres; sisters, Herlinda Orosco and Felisa R. Torres. He is survived by his brothers, Marcos Torres, Vicente Torres, Jose Torres & Arturo Torres.
