Jeanne Arsenault Marsalko passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, in Grand Prairie, Texas at the age of 86. She was born January 14, 1934, to Charles V. Arsenault and Delia Sullivan Arsenault in Berlin, New Hampshire.
After graduating from Berlin High school in 1952, she migrated to Texas with her family where she met and married her husband Stephen M. Marsalko of 26 years. Jeanne was an attentive homemaker, devoted mother to her three children, and volunteered regularly at their schools.
In 1974, Jeanne and her 2 sisters (no longer busy with small children) began working at McDonald’s to “occupy their time.” Her work ethic and leadership abilities earned a promotion to assistant manager. Before retiring in 1999, she was a sealant mixer at LTV, later known as Vought and Lockheed Martin, for 17 years.
After retirement, Jeanne continued to lead a vibrant life as an active member of the Grand Prairie Senior Center. There she enjoyed making new friends, taking group trips around the metroplex, and learning how to make fine beaded jewelry. She especially liked the casino bus trips, as she adored playing the slots with her mother, sisters, and daughters in Las Vegas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana all her adult life. She had quite a passion for the beach. From her expansive lighthouse collection, love of sea horses, to her favorite past times- vacationing with her family in South Padre Island and walking along the surf, she loved what the Oceanside had to offer. We know she is spending her eternal peace walking along the glittering beaches of heaven.
She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, dry sense of humor, and the love she gave as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Life will never be the same because a part of us went with her.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Audrey Romine of New Burn, NC and Janice Smith of Grand Prairie. She is survived by her children, Stephen C. Marsalko of Grand Prairie, Deanna L. Marsalko of Arlington, and Karen J. Marsalko of Mesquite; granddaughter, Lori D. Marsalko; great-grand-daughters, Kayla and Damia all of Arlington; and her sister, Joyce Plummer of Grand Prairie; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.
