Jim was a great man & the memories from Stans Dugout to Duffy’s Pub were great. He was very kind & generous  to the community & supported Avondale schools.  He will be missed by many. Prayers & comfort to the Dieters Family!! 

The memorial was so nice. Jim sure made my friend Irene one happy woman. I only meet Jim a few times at Dyffy’s Pub, but so quick to smile and greet you. Jim graced the world with humor and love. The memorial reflected that as well. I pray Gods grace and strength sustains you doing this grief process. 

Every time I think of Jim's passing I get melancholy all over again.   So many years of great memories between Stan's and Duffy's.  It was the sheer power of his personality and passion that made Duffy's such a welcoming place.  He always made our band feel like we were truly a part of the Duffy's family.  I always loved looking out from the stage and seeing his smile light up the room; I was looking forward to the day I would see it again -- almost like an approving father.  My heart goes out to the Dieters family, the Duffy's family, and the many, many people his life has touched.  The light of the world is a little dimmer without him.

A very good person. He lived by the Golden Rule, cared deeply about his family and knew how to have a good time.  Jim and I worked together in several businesses including Suburban Softball where 1,000 people  would play softball each night, a driving range in Rochester Hills, a restaurant and softball complex in Lapeer and, of course,  Stan's Dugout.  My name may have been on the sign but he was the one everybody loved, including me.


We are very sad to learn of Jim’s passing
 :-( A great contributor to Auburn Hills non profits and schools, Jim always said “yes”.  He helped out  for every important cause... he made a difference and will always be remembered for his generosity to the community.  We will miss your wonderful smile and spirit!  We will keep your family in our hearts and prayers.  RIP Jim! 

I know that I can speak for all of the members of the OU Baseball Team that played ball with Jimmy, that we will miss his smile and cheery nature. We in this special fraternity mourn his loss greatly, not only because he was one of our brothers, but because he was a truly good man. That makes the loss especially difficult. We all feel for his family and hope for God to ease your pain.

What a great man.  We went way back to Stans Duggout during our softball days where our  team would always go after our games. Jim would always make time to chat and make us feel welcome.  We are so very sorry for this loss. Peace to his family! 


To the Deiters family and all those who were part of the Duffy's family. I'm am sorry for your loss.  Life is not fair for this to happen.  Although I have not been in or around Duffy's in some years I know Jim was a kind man and will be missed by many. My memories go back to when Stans dugout was open. Always a good time and sometimes crazy at Stans.            .Jim was  so nice to all who entered those doors. May God grant him peace.

Jim was such a special person. Always helping others. Can’t count how many benefits he hosted at Stans Dugout and Duffy’s Pub . He was one of the most genuine people Rollie and I know . We will miss his smiling face , words of wisdom, and the knocks on the back as he walked by you at the bar . He helped Rollie and I so many different ways . He told the most silliest jokes that made you laugh  . So glad he was apart of our lives. We are better people for knowing him . His spirit will always be with us . I am very sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. I have fond memories of Suburban Softball.  Prayers and strength to his family. 

We are so saddened by Jim’s passing.  We shared many fun and crazy times when the kids were little.  We always appreciated his sense of humor.  My kids still say “smart fart, took the elevator” when they burp!

To the Dieters family,
 So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. Our family (The White’s) and my personal memory of Jim goes way back to sixth grade at Disco  Elementary school years. Jim was my very good friend and classmate. He made me laugh so much back then. He had a great fun spirit and smile. His Dad Dirk and our Dad Vernon White managed all the little league baseball teams playing up at Ford baseball field. Jim was the talk of the field. Even way back then his pitching and batting skills were OUTSTANDING.  I remember even my Dad would say “oh no I don’t think it looks good for our team tonight, we’re playing against the team that Jim Deiters is pitching for. Those were great childhood days. My two sisters ,Lynn , Samantha and I (Dawn) all reminisced about Jim and those great baseball days. We loved all the Deiters! There are Special  people that come into your life’s journey even if it’s for a short time. Jim was one of those people. God has given us a gift of Special memories.  Jim was one of those gifts. We pray for comfort and peace to all the Deiters family.

We are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing.  He was a wonderful person.  I remember being at Duffy's and he would send drinks to us regulars.  We would toast him in the camera.  When we went to New Orleans with Irene and Jim he would order a drink for Rollie or another person and they would toast him.  Jim got a kick out of that.  He was always supportive of the Auburn Hills community.  He will be missed dearly.   Wish we could be with you on Saturday.  Sending hugs and prayers

To the Dieters Family,

I was so saddened to hear about Jim.  He was my best friend growing up in Rochester and we shared many memorable moments from all the  teams we played on together in high school and college. Jim and the entire Dieters family are people I admired and they gave me opportunities I never would have had without their support.  Jim was one of the best people I knew with his great sense of humor and his competitive spirit.  He was truly a great friend to me and I will miss him but I will never forget him.
