Sheila I. Rodriguez

Sheila Inez Rodriguez (nee Cole), 73 years of age, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday October 2, 2020 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Missouri.

Sheila was born October 5, 1946 in St Louis, Missouri to the late Oliver and Lily Cole. She was the youngest of 3 children, the late Linda Burrows (Daryl) and Brenda Jones (Ray). She was a 1964 graduate of Southwest High School in St. Louis, Missouri.

Sheila was the devoted wife of the late John D. Rodriguez, Sr. She was the loving mother of three children, David Rodriguez, Sr. (Christy), Angela Hernandez (Alex) and Melissa Rodriguez (Tom). Devoted grandmother to Kimberly Jensen (Sean), David Rodriguez, Jr (Kaitlyn), Katarina Hoock, Cole Rodriguez, Celine I. Clay, Edward O. Hoock, Oliva Rodriguez, and Alicia Rodriguez, Sarah Hoock, Lillianna Hernandez, Isabella Hernandez. Great grandmother to Layla Jensen and Luna Silva. Loving aunt to Ted Shipley and Chystal Eckman.

She is survived by her bonuschildren John Rodriguez, Jr (Rita), Oliver Rodriguez, Sr., the late Dottie Rodriguez, Louetta Rodriguez, and Marla McCune (Bill). A loving bonusgrandmother to Oliver (OJ) Rodriguez, Jr (Lois), Lynn Glenn (Harry), John Rodriguez, III (Michelle), Mindy Branson, Joshua Rodriguez (Tasha), Steven Colbert, Jr, Jeannie Thurston (Jamie), Rachel Gauthier (Ben) Matthew Rodriguez (Ali Almazar), Sara Kerr (Jerry), BJ McCune (Megan), Chelsey White, Megan Rodriguez, Thomas Rodriguez (Gina), and Holly Rodriguez (Damon).

Sheila retired from the United States Corp of Engineers. She enjoyed spending time with family, going to grandchildrens’ activities, photography, the St. Louis Cardinals, and a good cup of coffee.

She was a loving cousin, great aunt, great grandmother and friend to many.

The services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Hoffmeister South County Chapel at 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd. Visitation will be held from 10-12 with services immediately following. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
