James Davis left us to be with the Lord on October 2, 2020.
James is preceded in death by Forney and Alice Ruth Davis, Mike Davis, and Ann Grammar. He is survived by his wife, Jan Davis; his sons and their wives, Brad and Kim Davis, Tyler and Lesley Davis; his grandchildren, Gabby, Josh, Reese, and Connor Davis; and his brother and sister-in-law, Elbert and Ethel Davis.
James was born on June 7, 1950 to Forney and Alice Ruth Davis in Anniston, Alabama where he was one of four children. He graduated from Saks High School in 1970 where he met the love of his life, Jan. He would marry his love on September 12, 1970 and would go on to have two sons and four beautiful grandchildren. James attended two years of college at Jacksonville State University and continued his career at Anniston Army Depot, where he would retire in June of 2013. His retirement was due to his battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, but it also began another journey. He and his wife traveled to Durham, North Carolina where he would receive a double lung transplant on November 23, 2013. He went on to spend another seven years with the people he loved most. In those seven years, memories were made to last a lifetime. He and his wife were able travel and enjoy life, as well as, greet two of their grandchildren and watch the other two accomplish goals that would be stepping stones for their further endeavors. James was a member of Edgewood Congregational Methodist Church, where he served the Lord by being a part of the multimedia team. The things he loved most included being with his family, fishing with some of his best friends, and going on shopping sprees where he would come home with new trucks. James Davis will forever live on in the hearts of the people that knew and loved him the most.
Rest Easy Papa,
We Love You
