Stephen Todd Wells

49, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 10, 2020 to be with his Lord and Savior. Stephen was born February 20, 1971 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late Ralph Lee and the late Linda Wells. He was a computer technician with Unisys and previously had been a computer teacher with Eagledale Christian School. Stephen was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church and the Zionsville Concert Band. He played euphonium as well as percussion in the Zionsville Concert Band. He was very active in his home church, Crosspointe Baptist. He was a deacon, assistant treasurer, was an active member of the church choir and orchestra, and led several instrumental groups that played in services regularly. He played euphonium in church as well as a number of recorders and pennywhistles, and taught himself double bass while on short term disability with his first round of head/neck cancer. He played double bass in church orchestra as well as solos for special music in his church. He also was the chief sound and video engineer for the church, scheduling and overseeing both the livestream ministry as well as the audio ministry. He also led the drama teams for Easter and Christmas cantatas, both directing and leading the makeup crews for these. He was often known to take his own vacation time from work to volunteer to help with sound/lighting/makeup and directing school plays at his church’s school, helping with Vacation Bible School, taking pictures for school sports tournaments, and helping with audio for church meetings. He was an avid videographer and photographer, often seen at Crosspointe Christian Academy soccer, volleyball, or basketball games, taking pictures, sending pictures to parents of students, and making special sports magazine covers for senior athletes as his graduation gift to them, and had made countless wedding videos for church members. He is survived by his wife of 28 years: Anita (Pearcy) Wells; sons: Benjamin and Daniel Wells; sister: Stephanie Wells; uncle: Richard C. Todd and cousins: Richard M. Todd, Christopher McCoy, Philip Todd, Charles Todd and Heather Slining. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents: Richard and Eunice Todd and an aunt: Janice McCoy. Visitation for Stephen will be held on Friday, October 16, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Crosspointe Baptist Church. 220 Country Club Rd., Indpls., IN 46234. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 17, at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service, also at the Church. Burial will follow at New Winchester Cemetery in Danville, IN.
