When our mother died in 1996, my father mourned his wife of 57 years, having a heart attack within 6 months.  After a year of grieving and recovery, he decided to go on living.  He reacquainted with old family friend and former patient, Lucille, who also had lost her lifelong mate.  Lucille often recounted that after a brief seniors' courtship, Dad in his inimitable fashion posed the romantic question, "What the hell, why don't we get married."  So at age 86 our father "robbed the cradle", marrying Lucille age 76 and they spent 10 happy years together before Dad's passing in 2008.    We will always be grateful to Lucille for the love and care for our father during his final years and her continued role as mother and grandmother for our family during the following years. We will never forget Christmases at Joe and Gerrie Korzeniowski's with Lucille. She was always dressed to the nines, and with two "martunies" in hand, would dispense her wit and wisdom to anyone who would have the good fortune of being within earshot of her.  We loved hearing the stories about the good old days and her flower shop. She was a little spitfire. Plus she always baked about 5 different pies that she brought to the Christmas Eve dinner. Never mind that Gerrie already had a ton of desserts already baked. Robby had to try every one of her pies, and in fact, got so stuffed, he had to get a Zantac from Lucille and borrow sweatpants from Dave -- just to continue the evening. We will dearly miss Lucille! Aunt Lucille was a special part of my childhood. As a young girl, I remember curling up on her livingroom  sofa, wrapped in her beautiful,  white mink coat and falling asleep.  
I remember seeing my first flocked tree at her home and thought it was so special, with all her hand blown, glass ornaments.  
Or, eating dinner on an amazing set of black, china dishes with a star pattern that mesmerized me.
She always made the best angel food cakes.. from scratch..
She always looked  so pretty.. 
She may have been petite,  but she was a memorable and impressive woman.

She was preceded in death by husbands Joseph Korzeniowski Sr. and Dr. Walter Warpeha, her son Joseph Korzeniowski Jr., and several of her siblings.
She is survived by daughter in law: Gerrie, grandchildren David (Kim), Jodi (Mark) Westerham; three great grandchildren: Callie, Madeline, and Joseph, her sister Helen Hathaway, and the Warpeha families
