Ellen was a kind, beautiful person and a wonderful speaker. She had much to offer as she was well traveled and a well rounded. She had a magical way of attracting a large audience when she spoke. She is sorely missed by the Fox Hills Adult Community, especially  by Ralph and Adrienne Migdale.

I was fortunate and richly blessed to know Ellen when she first looked for a penpal in the 1990s to share our love of writing. While this tribute comes late simply because I just found out about her passing nonetheless she was such a champion for people and life and the biggest supporter of my work. I will miss her always and the bright spot she was in my life. Shalom. Fly high, Ellen, fly high!

Ellen was my big sister, my best friend, my mentor, my greatest supporter, my example, my touchstone. She was elected “Sweetest Senior” of her high school graduating class,  and she truly was the sweetest, kindest, most genuine person I’ve ever known. She helped me through the best and worst times of my life. I love 💕  you, Ellen!

Living diagonally across from each other, in the Roosevelt building, Ellen and I instantly became fast friends.  We shared family joys, photos and stories as well as Holidays, food, books and interesting discussions.  I will miss her lovely smile that lit up her face, her gentle voice and intelligent conversations, especially about art, one of her passions.  Another passion was writing.  Ellen's Writing Club was a highlight at Fox Hills.  Her passing has created a void in the Fox Hills Community and she will be deeply missed. May all the beautiful memories of Ellen bring comfort and healing to her Loved ones and may she  rest peacefully.  Her soul will live on in my heart and in the hearts of many who knew her.

Ellen was very special in our community. When I first moved here, Ellen was a favorite speaker at our Women's Club Meetings. When I knew Ellen was speaking, I made sure to be there.
Ellen had a certain charisma in her pleasant, soft spoken way.
When she walked in a room, we knew someone special was there.
Ellen's talents touched the lives of so many people. We are all better for knowing her.
Please accept our sincere sympathy. Ellen will be remembered, always.

Ellen was a very special person with  many talents which she  very willingly  shared  with the Fox Hills Community,    She was very bright and was a wealth of information.   Her voice was soft but carried much weight because of her warmth, kindness and gentle approach.  In the writing Club she set an excellent example of how to teach.  We will miss her.

Dear Ellen, Thank you for spending the last nine years with me.   I enjoy telling everyone that we first met at Brooklyn College in 1952 and remained close friends over the years. Then we found and fell in love with each other when our circumstances changed.  I moved to Fox Hills and the past nine years were some of the best years of my life.  You were my love and my best friend.  All who knew you admired your brilliance, your kindness, your patience and your ability to help others.  I will always love you and  miss you and wish you peace.
