George was born in Greencastle on December 12, 1936, the son of William O. and Martha (Smith) Huff, and was a graduate of Greencastle High School.
Mr. Huff was a member of Sherwood Christian Church. He worked as a Tool and Die Machinist for Lab Co for many years. George served proudly on the U.S.S Ranger, as a Jet Mechanic in the United States Navy.
Survivors include three sons, John Huff, (wife-Elizabeth), Anthony Huff, (wife-Tracy J.), and Randall J. Huff, (wife-Jackie); a sister Sarah Jane Lane, (husband-Herb); a brother Glen Huff, (wife-Barb); six grandchildren, Travis Huff, Stevye Howell (husband-Travis), Alston Huff, Carrie Cummins, (husband-Daniel), and Brian and Fleetta Kemp; ten great-grandchildren, John Alexander and Aidan James Huff, Hadley, and Sutton Howell, and Ethan and Preslee McCain, Hunter Fleeman, Braxton Fisher, Wyatt, and Carrigan Cummins; a sister-in-law Marjorie Huff; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Edgar Lee Huff; and a brother Russell Huff.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Staggers officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday.
