Sherri, my Dear Friend! I am going to miss our heart to heart talks and your sense of humor.....  Love you, Hazel 

Sherri Ann and I grew up together in the same  small town of Barstow, TX.  
Therefore, I knew her mother, Theresa, and Aunt Bobbie.  Theresa was like a second mother to me and Bobbie worked for my grandad in his office when I was young. Love to you both,  Mike and family Rita and Jim
Sherri Ann and I had lots of memories of all the playhouses around my house as I lived on a farm. We had running water in one  playhouse called a ditch. We cooked the best mud pies!  We had lots of memories  of city wide birthday parties, Easter Egg hunts, school , and all the regular  children’s activities. No pandemic could have stopped our city wide Halloween Carnivals!
As we grew up and started our journey as adults (did we ever really grow up) our paths would cross many times.  Sometimes with me even moving to El Paso going to UTEP and teaching in the area as Troy mentioned in his memories as  Sherri and I  even lived in the same apartment building at that time. Sherri flew to Hawaii to see me and see Hawaii. She brought me  a case of Coors beer along with her suitcases. Isn’t that the type of present everybody brings to their host?  One time Sherri and Bill brought me a wooden Pueblo Indian ladder to decorate my house.   Bill Bonilla was not really thrilled to carry a 6 foot ladder through the ELPaso Airport, in the plane  and through the DFW Airport. What Sherri wouldn’t do for her friends or Bill do for her.,
Sherri will certainly  light up the Heaven with her presence. And for the first time in a long time she will be without pain. One of her many talents she had was not complaining of her miseries.  Sherri simply smiled and made you feel special as you were the only person who mattered.  We were all so
 Blessed to know her!
As Pastor said in the service, “See you soon.”
Love you my sweet Sherri and may your new life be without any pain and be marvelous 🥰.       We will all keep a  helping hand out for your family.

I have known of Sherri since I was a youngster. I found out she was my new cousin when my Uncle Forrest married Theresa. I finally got the chance to meet Sherri in 1966, when I was stationed at Ft. Bliss/Biggs Army Air Field in El Paso. I was attending a Vietnamese language course in route to Viet Nam. I contacted her for the first time and she and her friend Tinka befriended me  allowing me a much needed distraction from  where I would be going...Viet Nam. The three of us enjoyed cookouts at their apartment, trips over the border to Juarez for fun, dining on Mexican cuisine and margaritas.
Sherri and I reconnected again many years later after my marriage to Myra. The girl LOVED Christmas and decorated her and Bill's home to the "nines". We got to spend several totally enjoyable Christmas holidays with their family, Michael, Regina, their two girls Ava and Cloe, Jim and Rita and Theresa and Bobbie. As we all have come to expect...good food, drinks and family...never to forget memories Myra and I will forever cherish in our hearts!! 
We've maintained contact over the passing years and when I would call Sherri or she would call me, she always had a new joke to share or the latest stories...amazing chats with her grandbabies, Ava and Cloe and on May 12, 2015, Sherri called to lets us know she had been blessed with a new grandson, Madison Alexander.
I know everyone will remember Sherri as a "loving giver", always sharing her talents as an elementary teacher for 29 years in the El Paso area. Giving her all as a caring school teacher to her kids. I am sure she will have a life-long influence on her students.
Sherri is a life long friend to Tinka, Clair and Joan, her Bunco Buddies and her church family. She is a gifted painter/artist, pianist and super talented interior decorator which is on display the minute you walk into her home....it is warm, inviting, friendly and welcoming to a special place....just like our Sherri! Mrs Bonilla was always smiling and I love when she came to the pharmacy.  Her smile made my day and I will miss her so much.  She will always be in my prayers.  Several years ago she made me a Christmas ornament and every year it is on my tree.

I have a ton of stories. Sherri was good friends with my mother (they taught together early in their careers) and a close friend to me personally. She was like that aunt who is more like an older sister. Her laugh and appreciation for dry humor endeared me to her. 
As sad as I am, I can’t help but smile for having known her. And I am a better person for it. 
My heart goes out to Rita and Mike. 
Sherri was a loved person. I will always remember her fondly.  

From Canada, I say goodbye to Sherri as she goes home to her Lord.
I am so grateful to Sherri for her lifelong friendship with my sister, Tinka. Their friendship was a sisterhood that lasted without a hitch from grade school in Barstow to their enduring caring for each other throughout life. They even taught together in the El Paso area.
The stories of their antics in Barstow and Pecos are legendary, and I just realized that those adventures and misadventures should have been recorded in a book: Hijinks on the Pecos River.
Sherri's laughter, talents and gracious living are enduring memories for me. 
God be with her family and from me to Theresa and Bobbie a special Barstow hug.



our condolences to the familie. We lost a wonderful friend that we will never forget and she will always stay in our hearts. 

Seems like I have  known Sherri forever.  We became friends around 15, roomed together in college and have stayed forever friends.  John knew Sherri before we married. They met when we attended a party together  and they became best friends. Through all the years we stayed in touch , through yearly visits  in El Paso and Pecos.  She was the sister I never had  and the dearest friend. We both miss her and will  carry so  many memories of our  sweet Sherri. 
I can hear her saying  I want to play a special song for you. And she always did. Sherri was  amazing in every way : a pianist, painter,  teacher and friend!❤️

Sherri was a most beautiful person inside and out She was always fun to be with. A super cook with delicious recipes she shared. A great painter. We have a painting of hers and some poems she wrote. Her interior designs and bright colors described her personality. Always a laugh. She will always be in our hearts and miss her forever
