All who met Pat were lucky if they had a glimpse of that warm smile or the chance to hear her infectious laugh. My sincere sympathies to the entire Byers family and all those who hold Pat dear in their hearts.  

  Pat was truly one of a kind. Just read that even as a teenager she would be nice to the little kids in the neighborhood.  She was so caring and compassionate.  She could make us all laugh like no one else could. Pat was definitely one of the funniest people I know. Love her like a sister. Praying that God gives the Byer family  the strength to get through this difficult time.

My family and Patty's family were neighbors growing up on Venango street.  Patty was several years older than me but I remember her being so funny and outgoing.   Our families would go on picnics several times every summer at Neshaminy State Park.  I remember sleeping over their house and her being so nice to me, even though I'm sure I annoyed her as she was a teenager when I was a little girl. I remember her playing games with all the younger kids on the block and celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family.  To Pattys family I'm very sorry for your loss. And thought of her often throughout the years.  I stayed in touch with Mark and would always ask about his brothers and sisters.   I also remember going to her house a few times after she got married.  I think that I went with her mom, another wonderful lady.

Ms. Pat was one of the biggest reasons I used to go down to visit the ER. I used to work down there and I swear I would get so happy if I got to work a shift with her. When I first started at Elkins 5 years ago I came in little innocent jenny, aka Sue's daughter and I swear Ms. pat used to shield my ears every time she talked because she thought she was a bad influence on me. The whole shift would be filled with laughter whenever Ms. Pat worked. Even if I came to work grumpy or sad she would make sure to have me smiling in just seconds of seeing her.  there was never a day she didn't talk about her family or show me one of the grandkids on facetime. Ms. pat was everyone's cool work mom. She will be beyond missed. My heart is filled with sadness but I will hold on to the million of memories we're all blessed with. Sending love and prayers to her family, and to her enormous work family as well. we love you so much Ms. Pat

If you spent any amount of time with Pat, you knew 2 things... her love of her family and her passion for being a nurse.   She was undoubtedly proud of both!  She was the ultimate mom - to her family and in our department.

Patty Cook. That is how I knew you when we first met. Your family lived next door to my Pop Pop.  Your whole family called him Pop Pop and he loved you like his own grandchild. Although at times I remember him saying , that girl may be trouble😂. I looked up to you then , thinking you were so cool. And then Pop Pop passed and I didn’t see you until about 17 years ago. I was working at Elkins and saw you in the ER and said Patty Cook and you said it’s Byers now. I told you who I was and we hugged!  I am so grateful we got to reconnect. You always made me laugh and you were such a great nurse. You cared about everyone, but especially your children!  You will be missed more than you will ever know!  Until we meet again, goodbye Angel Pat❤️

Thinking of you all on this very sad day.  Patti was a very unique and funny person who was loved by all.  I like many will miss her forever.  My love, thoughts, and prayers are with you all.   There will never be another like her!

Pat and I worked many many  Wednesdays together.  She was a smart, kind, generous and loving friend. Funny but also professional, her patients loved her. She will be dearly missed  and fondly remembered . I will be streaming Pat's mass and praying for her family.

Working with Pat was always fun no matter how busy or chaotic the day would get!!  Pat had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and at ease!  She was a true gem and will be missed dearly!  We had many things in common like Lawncrest, St Williams and the Schaefer family!  I am honored to have worked with a truly spectacular nurse and I will really miss her because she always had your back!!   

To the Byers Family, 

It's impossible to express all of the love and respect we have for Pat, and prayers of peace and comfort for you at this painful and incomprehensible time. There were so many ways Pat made our days better & brighter. She set the standard for caring and compassionate nursing, often going above and beyond with her patients. She made us better clinicians by asking us the right questions, holding us accountable and making sure we addressed every aspect of a patient's visit - even if the patient didn't state it themselves. 

Some of my favorite memories of Pat were at our Department holiday parties. She was always the first on the dance floor and encouraged everyone to get out there. Once Pat was on the floor, we knew it was time to party. That same energy she brought to work and in everything she did.  I used to ask what vitamins she takes because I didn't know where she got her energy to work so many hours and do all the things she did. Truly an amazing woman and she always looked out for others, including taking good care of me during my shifts. There is no one, and will be no one, like her. She will be missed more than you know and she will never, ever be forgotten. May she rest well in eternal peace, and may you find comfort in knowing how much she was loved and admired. We promise to carry on her legacy.

PATTY was one of the kindest people I ever met in my life. She always made me feel like I mattered.  I worked with her for over 9 years and it was a pleasure every time I saw her. She was alway's so pleasant and caring and will never be forgotten. She always made me laugh and made you feel better if you  were having a bad day.. There will ALWAYS be a special place in my heart for her. I love you PATTY rest up my ANGEL.

Patty was my sister in law, we worked together at the Reading Terminal Market! She started nursing school while working and raised five daughters! She would come in and tell me how she was doing in school she managed to pass with a point four average! She was one of the hardest working person I ever knew ! I have known Pat for 12 years working in Kindred,she was my best nurse,loving,caring and always make us laugh at night,a great mom ,Gran ma and also a good wife.She will be missed.Rest in peace Pat!!!

When I first met Mrs Pat, she was very warm and welcoming! She made you feel like you knew her for years! Maybe a month later  I was walking past an Room in the ER and she was talking to a patient and she said come here and told the patient here’s one of my daughters! The patient looked shocked and Mrs Pat said what she can’t be my daughter? Every since then I was introduced as her daughter to everyone! This was 3 years ago! I love this lady and so grateful that I became family to her! Last time I saw her which was almost two months ago she was telling me how one of the jobs was hounding her to pick up shifts  and I said momma you gotta slow down, she said I know daughter and we said love you! I will cherish the memories with her! 

I LOVE YOU ALL AND IM PRAYING! I CANNOT IMAGINE HOW YOU FEEL BUT I WILL STAND WITH YOU AND FOR YOU!!!

Every memory from living on Colgate St, sleeping over your house all the time, Pat was the 1st person who showed me how good cheese tasted on eggs... She is very loved but will be missed so much more 💔💔💔🙏🙏🙏😭😭😭
