Elsie was born on August 2, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Eliseo and Abigail Garcia Bernal. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, and aunt.
She married her lifelong love, Arnold Brett, in 1951, and they soon moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She worked for General Electric and volunteered at the Children's Hospital at St. Francis. She was also involved with the Pan American Club and was an avid bridge player.
With her bright smile and sunny personality, she had many friends. Her family will miss her immensely.
She is survived by her sister, Rebecca Rodriguez (Richard); her brother-in-law, Romeo Matta (Mary); many nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
She is preceded in death by her mom and dad, Abigail and Eliseo Bernal; her siblings, Mary Matta (Romeo), Hortensia Rosales (Fernando), Lee Bernal, Jr., Connie Sanchez (Alex), Robert Bernal (Helen), and Martha "Eva" Montemayor (Louis).
