Leonard "Lenny" Burrows, Sr. was born to Rita and Charles Edward, Sr in Queens, New York. Lenny graduated from Seward Park High School in New York City in 1956. He enlisted in the Marines at 17 years old, immediately following graduation.
He traveled the world during his enlistment, serving in Beirut and Greece. After the military, Lenny became a Sheet Metal Mechanic with NYC Local 28 while raising a family with his wife, Barbara (deceased), in Huntington, Long Island.
In the late 70's he moved the family to Bradenton, Florida. Here he worked for various Air Conditioning outfits working on commercial buildings. Finally, retiring to spend his days reading, completing daily crosswords, and enjoying time with all his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Lenny was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann, his parents, Rita and Charles E. Burrows, Sr, and his brother, Eddie Burrows.
He leaves behind his children, Lenny Jr (Kathy), Bill (Debbie), Karen (Del), and Dan (Vicki). Lenny also leaves behind his sister, Lois (Walter) Engelken, and many precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Leonard will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM followed by interment at Manasota Memorial Park with Military Honors.
