Easley, SC – Mrs. Peggy Jean Snipes Childress, age 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2021. Mrs. Childress was born in Pickens County, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Prue Snipes and Marie Snipes and wife of 53 years to the late Milton Forrest Childress.
Survivors include her son Anthony Childress and his two daughters Darby and Gabrielle of Greenville, South Carolina along with sisters Pat Downing from Easley, South Carolina, Sue Porter of Pickens, South Carolina and Linda Hall of Easley, South Carolina.
Mrs. Childress was predeceased by a sister Polly Elrod.
Mrs. Childress attended Calvary Hill Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for seventeen years. She deeply enjoyed studying scriptures and reading. She loved being with her family and most especially her grand-girls. She enjoyed going to the beach and was an advocate of exercising.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 3:30PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, South Carolina.
