Carol Ann Gilio of Fresno, formerly of Tranquility, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the age of 76. She was born on August 29, 1947 in Fresno, CA to Joey and Mildred Torrano. She was the oldest of three children. She was preceded in death by her son Larry James Gilio II, and her parents.
Carol was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her kindness, generosity and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. Prior to her passing, Carol was one of the owners of Pelco, a well-known, worldwide leader in the surveillance camera industry. Throughout her time at Pelco, her friends and colleagues referred to her as “The Mother", she was always there to listen and offer advice that would be sure to come with a warm hug and a shoulder to cry on. Carol was also known for the over the top parties that followed industry trade shows and her attention to detail. After the sale of Pelco, Carol devoted her life to her family and the charitable causes that were close to her heart - Make-A-Wish, Fresno Christian Schools, and The Marjaree Mason Center.
On behalf of her daughter, Stacey Giannandrea, she would like to thank the wonderful staff of Oakmont of Orange and Acacia Hospice for their thoughtfulness, loving care, and endless support for our loved one.
