Frances Wagley, age 92, of Ann Arbor, was born August 9, 1931 in Napoleon, North Dakota, and passed away May 5, 2024 at home. Loving mother of Rita Moses, Donna (the late Joseph) Schwartzenberger, Helen (Cary) Ogilvie, and Patricia (Bob) Kinkade. Cherished grandmother of Mike (Kristi) Schwartzenberger, Brandy (Daniel) Allen, Naomi Negley, Jason (Aletta) Schwartzenberger, Samantha Baize, Miranda (Scott) Brown, Nicole Negley, Nathan Moses, Chad (Julia) Schwartzenberger, Kyle Holloway, and Keith (Kim) Hunter. Proud great-grandmother of 18, she loved each of them dearly. Dear sister of Victor (Gladys) Schwartzenberger. Frances will be missed by numerous other family members and friends. Frances was preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Jack Wagley; her daughter, Janette Holloway; her great-grandson, Hunter Allen; her parents, Thomas and Helen (Betsch) Schwartzenberger; and her siblings, Katherine Schwab, Joseph Schwartzenberger, Elizabeth Gee, Leo Schwartzenberger, Clara Line, Thomas Schwartzenberger, and Margaret Jahner.
Frances, a lifelong devout Catholic, spent her last two decades dedicated to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Ann Arbor, embodying her unwavering faith. As a school bus driver for nearly three decades, she found fulfillment in serving her community. Her proudest achievements were her children, and she cherished every moment with her family. In her leisure time, she found solace in reading, crochet, and sewing, hobbies that reflected her nurturing spirit. Frances will be remembered as a spirited, opinionated, and deeply religious woman who embraced life with love and passion.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 at 10:00am (In State 9:30am) with a Memorial Luncheon to follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 530 Elizabeth Street, Ann Arbor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Birthright or St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School.
