Julia Griffin was born on Tuesday, April 3, 1928, in New Baden, Texas to Phillip David Brunette and Hattie S. Dodds Brunette. Growing up in Robertson County Texas, she was the youngest of eight children. She graduated early from Franklin High School in 1944.
Julia married Robert Earl Prestridge (Bob) in 1944 in Hearne, Texas where they were blessed with four children: Robert Earl Prestridge Jr., Pamela Kay Browne, Philip Anderson Prestridge and Teresa Lynn Boudreau. In 1960, the family moved to the DFW Metroplex where Julia enjoyed being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She and Bob were married for 22 years until his untimely death in October 1966.

Martha Carter, as well as several grandchildren. This union resulted in a large, wonderfully, blended family which quickly revealed Julia’s mastery of large family gatherings. Holiday gatherings were always huge, but the most famous gathering was for Julia’s “Nana-Slam Breakfast” held every Saturday morning for more than twenty years.
In addition to loving her family, Julia loved to dance, travel, and play 84 with their close-knit group of friends. She loved to talk to people and she loved to know their stories.
