Obituary of Linda Carol (Ullery) Badger
Linda Carol (Ullery) Badger, 86, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed into God’s loving arms from Bell Trace Health and Living Center on May 10, 2024. Linda was born on July 12, 1937, in Brazil Indiana, the daughter of Daniel D. and Jessama I. (Huron) Ullery. She graduated from Brazil High School in 1955, and after many years as a military wife and raising her four children, she settled in Brazil, Indiana. She worked as a legal secretary for several years, for Brazil attorneys Wallace Grosbach, Samuel McQueen, George Craig and Ernest Yelton. Additionally, she performed administrative services for Royer Realty in Brazil. While not working, Linda enjoyed reading, cooking, and crossword puzzles. Her reputation as a fierce Scrabble player was unmatched among her family and friends. Her spirit for adventure and travel led her to try white water rafting, sky diving, parasailing and zip lining. Linda was an active member of several philanthropic organizations, including Delta Theta Tau, Habitat for Humanity, and 100+ Women Who Care of Monroe County. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary. She attended First Presbyterian Church in Brazil, and later Emmanuel Church in Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William D. Farris, and sister-in-law Geraldine Ullery and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Survivors include her husband Joseph E. Badger, brother Daniel D. (Sonja) Ullery, sons Anthony C. (Nima) Bevis, John J. (Cheryl) Bevis, Michael J. Bevis and daughter Laura N. Liddle. Surviving stepchildren include Joseph “Michael” (Nancy) Badger, Erica (Chris) Burke, and Dane A. (YuKo) Badger. She is also survived by grandchildren Adam Cox, Jessica Whitmer, Megan (Jeff) Thun, Eric (Emily) Liddle, Hannah Bevis, Emma Bevis, Olivia Bevis, Emily Bevis, Ethan Bevis, J.D. Freeman, Eric Freeman, Joseph C. (Drea) Badger, Cort Kramer, Brett Kramer, Megan Badger, Sarah Badger, and Jordan Badger. Her surviving great grandchildren are Chad Whitmer, Emberlyn Badger and Violet Thun. A Memorial Service will be held at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. 3rd St. Bloomington, Indiana, 47401 on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Kris Howell of Berea Christian Church of Brazil officiating.
