Bobbie was born in Evergreen, Louisiana and moved to New Orleans as a child. She went to school at McDonough 16, which is where she met the love of her life, Joe. They were married in 1952 and began life as a Navy wife soon after. She lived in Rhode Island while Joe traveled around the world aboard the USS Charles J. Badger. He brought Bobbie many treasures from the exotic places he traveled, but his true treasure was always his loving wife. After enlisted life they moved to Chalmette and began raising their family. Bobbie worked in various jobs and then began working for Mr. Bobby Torres. She continued working for him in different capacities in his various business ventures until her retirement in her late 60’s.
Being widowed at the age of 64, Bobbie spent her time traveling with friends and family and enjoying the company of her many grandchildren. She was affectionately called Memaw by everyone - and we mean everyone. Her beautiful smile and her ability to laugh with you and at herself gained her a multitude of “adopted grandchildren.” She continued being the bright light in the room even as her memory diminished. During her last few years, she developed a special relationship with her caregiver, Stacey Bryan, as well as gaining many new friends while living at Summerhouse Park Provence. The Favre and Scaglione Families would like to thank Stacey as well as the devoted and endlessly caring staff of Summerhouse Park Provence. Your dedication to our Memaw was truly a treasured gift to us all. Bobbie was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and a member of the Slidell Women’s Civic Club as well as a member of the Suburban Women’s Club of St. Bernard. She was well loved and affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace with her memory forever cherished in our hearts.
