Shelley Rae Galaske

Shelley Rae Galaske, age 55, of Edwardsburg, MI, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Shelley was a one-of-a-kind mom, grandma, sister, and friend to everyone. Her boundless kindness and generosity was unmatched. She had a heart of gold, always ready with a listening ear, a comforting embrace, or helping hand. Her compassion knew no bounds and touched the lives of many individuals with her gentle spirit and unwavering love. She was very passionate about her career in optometry and would go above and beyond for all of her colleagues and patients. Shelley was not one to back down from a fight, especially when it came to her many battles with cancer. Her positive attitude through years of treatment at different years of her life made her an inspiration to all. She was funny and constantly had everyone in the room laughing. She loved games and would win more often than not. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and short road trips. More than anything, she loved her family. Shelley is survived by her loving children, Nathan (Kendra) Burch and Emily Burch; her grandchildren, Jayce and Mia; her brother, Daniel (Kim) Valandingham; her sisters, Denise (Dewy) Cox, Jennifer (Bobby) Gibson, and Kim Valandingham; and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, Butch and Rolene Valandingham. A Visitation for Shelley will be held Thursday May 30, 2024, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. A Funeral Service will be held Friday May 31 at 10:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Cremation to follow.
