Pasquale “Pat” Fiorito, 92, formally of Upper Saddle River, NJ and currently of Delray Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, May 12, 2024, with his daughters, Toni and Tami by his side.
Pat was born on July 14, 1931, to Joseph and Margaret Fiorito in Brooklyn, NY. He was the eldest of 4 children, predeceased by Ronnie and Sarah and survived by Anita.
He was proud to serve in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955.
Pat was happily married to Betty for 32 years until her passing in 1992.
Pat started Metro Fire and Safety Equipment Company in 1962 from the garage of his house and made it a success because he always said, “If you love your wife and family, everything else would come.” Pat loved to travel, he drove his family in a motor home across the country twice as well as a two-week trip to Florida with his parents and nieces. He and Betty traveled the world. Pat enjoyed his retirement with more traveling, dining out, going to movies, and watching Fox news and baseball – his favorite team the Brooklyn/LA Dodgers.
Pat’s generosity, loyalty to family and enormous heart far outshined his argumentative spirit.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Teri, Toni and Tami.
On Thursday, May 30, there will be a gathering of friends and family at the Church of the Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Rd., Upper Saddle River, NJ 07458 in the Jerusalem Room at 10:30 am, and then a funeral mass at 12. After which, a veteran’s sendoff will be held at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, 234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652 at the All Faiths’ on the Hill Mausoleum. A catered repast will follow at Pat’s niece’s house, Renee Smith, 189 Hebberd Ave. Paramus, NJ.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a charity for which Pat felt strongly.
