It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Claire Corrigall. Predeceased by her husband Alan of 69 years and her sons Neil and Darryl, we find comfort that they are all together again. She is lovingly survived by her daughters Gail (Ron) and Lynn (Mike), sister Doreen Palmer, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Claire was born in Powell River and raised on Texada Island. She met Alan when she was a cook at a logging camp there. After they were married, they lived in Courtenay, Union Bay and finally settling into their home for the past 61 years in Honeymoon Bay. Claire lit up the room and loved life, enjoying her time quilting, visiting with friends and family, and remaining active. She was a wonderful mother and Grandmother, always having a little one standing on a chair beside her, helping her bake bread or cookies, canning pickles or making jam. There were always such wonderful smells coming from her kitchen and such a warm cozy atmosphere in the house! Inspiring and creative, Claire enjoyed passing her talents along, creating many fond memories for her family to carry with them. A big heartfelt thanks to Dr.Frose and to all the caring neighbours. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 pm Sat June 1st, at the Honeymoon Bay Community Hall. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Claire’s s name to the Cowichan Hospice Society “Hospice House” 3122 Gibbins Rd. Duncan, B.C. V9L 1G2
