Carlie Nicole Atkinson, age 27, passed away on May 11th, 2024, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Born on February 12th, 1997, Carlie's vibrant spirit enriched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
Carlie's compassion for people and animals was unmatched. She had an admirable capacity to deeply understand and care for those around her. She impressed many with her profound intelligence. Carlie's hard work earned her a scholarship from Take Stock in Children for academic excellence in 2012 which in turn granted her acceptance to Florida Polytechnic University's civil engineering program. Carlie's intelligence nurtured a sense of humor that often left those around her overcome by laughter. As the middle child of three girls Carlie developed an ability to adapt to any situation, she has been a bridge between many relationships, especially her two sisters. Carlie was always able to remind us of our similarities and shared love for each other even through the toughest stages of life. Carlie overcame challenges in her life that most people could not. Carlie has and will continue to be an inspiration to all that knew her.
She is survived by her father, Kirt Atkinson, her mother, Heather Becker, her stepmother, Karess Atkinson, and her stepfather, Bruce Becker. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Alyssa Atkinson and Reese Atkinson, as well as her stepbrother, Jacob Murphy. Carlie will forever be remembered by her grandmothers, Tami Best and Barbara Davenport, and her grandfathers, Carl Davenport and Mark Atkinson.
Carlie's light touched many lives, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. We want to shower her with flowers as we say our final goodbyes. Flowers can be sent to Groover Funeral Home 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, FL 34222
