Francisco X. (Frank) Mendoza passed away on May 7, 2024. He was born in El Paso, TX on May 22, 1931. His parents were Dr. Hermilo Mendoza and Mrs. Maria J. (Perez) Mendoza. He was predeceased by his siblings, Hermilo Mendoza Jr., Joseph Mendoza, Christina Bell, Graciela Mendoza, Carmen Haddox, and half-sister, Magdalena (Nena) Marquez. Frank graduated from El Paso High School and obtained a BA in History from Texas Western College, now UTEP. He interrupted his graduate studies to work for the FBI in Washington D.C. He then worked for 24 years at the Central Intelligence Agency. He was awarded the Career Intelligence Medal in 1981. He traveled extensively as part of his duties and had tours in Latin America and Vietnam. In retirement he worked in commissioned retail sales. Frank is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Frank will forever be remembered as a friendly, loyal, kind man. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. A special thank you to sister-in-law, Nancy Mendoza and her family, for their help and care in his last months.
