Richard I. Skrzypinski, aged 66, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2024, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 27, 1957, in Green Point, Brooklyn, New York, where he still has many family members and friends. Richard was the devoted son of Walter and Mary Skrzypinski.
On May 1, 1982, Richard married the love of his life, Donna Marie Keiper. Together, they embarked on a remarkable journey, raising three children and creating a legacy of love and devotion. Their story began in Green Point, where Richard worked tirelessly for 17 years at the United Parcel Service before retiring early to savor life's joys.
In 1993, Richard and Donna moved to the sunshine state of Palm Coast, Florida, where Richard's generous spirit found a home in the Knights of Columbus. Serving as the Grand Knight, Richard dedicated himself to helping others, embodying the values of compassion and service. He was also dedicated to calling bingo at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and running the bingo at the Knights of Columbus for 10 years.
Richard lived life with a contagious enthusiasm, finding joy in the simple pleasures—hunting, fishing, golfing, and friendly card games. Yet, above all, his greatest source of happiness was spending cherished moments with his beloved children and grandchildren.
In memory of Richard's extraordinary life, contributions can be made to the Deborah Heart Foundation.
Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Raymond, and Thomas Skrzypinski. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 42 years, Donna; his children, Sherri Ann and her husband Randy Hennessey, Richard Charles and his wife Nikita Skrzypinski, and Harley James Skrzypinski; his adored grandchildren, Hannah, Payden, Hailey, and Randall Jr.; his sister-in-laws, Brigetta Wilson and Daria Keiper, nieces, nephews and his faithful companion, his beloved dog "Beerzie."
Richard's spirit, his dedication to taking care of others, and his unwavering love will forever resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
