Obituary of Carolyn Eleanor Sickmiller - Washler
Carolyn Eleanor Sickmiller-Washler, age 82, of Harlan, Indiana passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born September 10, 1941 in Defiance, Ohio to the late Carl and Eleanora Thieroff. Carolyn graduated from Ayresville High School, Class of '59 and worked for Chief Supermarkets in Defiance for many years. She would wed Ramon Sickmiller on September 30, 1967 at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Defiance and he would preced her in death on February 23, 2007. Carolyn was baptized at Defiance Christian Church, in 1970, and was an active member at Defiance Christian, White Pigeon Church of Christ, White Pigeon, Michigan; Christ Church at Georgetown, Fort Wayne; founding member of Christ Hope Ministry and Church, Fort Wayne and Coburn Corners Church of Christ, St. Joe, Indiana until her passing. She is survived by her children, Greg (Jenn) Sickmiller of Fort Wayne; Ann (Alex Salek) Renfrow of Roanoke, Ind.; grandchildren, Dawn (Eric) Schmidt, Grace (Jason) Marquardt, and Ross Sickmiller; great-granddaughters, Anna and Maggie Schmidt; brother, Paul (Connie) Thieroff; brother-in-law, Roger Sickmiller; sister-in-law, Janet (Dale) Chitwood; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Carolyn would marry Edwin Washler on April 13, 2013 and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2018. She is survived by her step-children, Beth Washler, Chris (Becky) Washler, Zach (Erin) Washler, and Abbey (Adam) Roemke; step-grandchildren, Kurtis Todd, Konner, Emily, Sarah, Eli, Noah, Hannah, Jonah, and Finley; and step-great-granddaughter, Suzanna. Funeral Service is 11:00 am, Saturday, May 25 at Coburn Corners Church of Christ, 6813 Co Rd 64, St Joe, IN with calling two hours prior. Entombment at Highland Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Woodburn Christian Children's Home, 24902 Notestine Road, Woodburn, IN 46797.
