Sue was born in Wichita, KS on September 9, 1943, to parents Daniel and Alma. She was the youngest of 5 children, growing up with sisters Carol and Joyce, and brothers Ken and Don. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joyce. She is survived by her other siblings, a son, Thomas, and a daughter, Jana, as well as their spouses, Wendy and Greg. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Kenneth (Danielle), Wesley, Amanda (Mark), Tyler, Nicole (Jacob), and 6 great-grandchildren.
Sue married Walter “Bud” Geist in 1962. They were married for nearly 25 years, but divorced. Bud passed away in 1997. She spent the early part of her working life doing mostly secretarial work until she became a travel agent. Working as a corporate travel agent, she won many awards and accolades for excellence in her field. That gave her the chance to do some world travel which she cherished.
Sue was a huge fan of Disney, especially the parks. She spent countless visits to her “favorite place, with her favorite characters (her family)” with a smile on her face and a Dole Whip or churro in her hand.
After retiring, she became an avid crafter and an amazing scrapbooker. She spent 100’s of Friday evenings with Wendy and Jana working on different albums for the people she loved. She was also into making greeting cards, with personalized birthday cards for her family and friends as her specialty. We all would look forward to see what she came up with this year. It was always special and extremely creative. We will all miss those cards.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Rockrimmon Apartments clubhouse on Monday, July 1st, 2024 at 3pm. The address is 5824 Walsh Point, Colorado Springs, CO 80919
Sue was an amazing lady full of laughter and wisdom. She will be missed from this day forward. Rest in peace, and know you were loved by so many.
