Born in Simpson county, Kentucky to the late James Robert and Beatrice O. (Ellis) Hickman, James is also preceded in death by his wife loving wife, Betty (Reed) Hickman and by his sister Francis Henzie.
He is survived by his son Darrin Hickman; his granddaughter Lona Bai Hickman; his brother Joe Hickman (Linda), as well as many other beloved extended family and dear friends.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army. A retired businessman, James started the Clean Quik Company and still actively serving as its COO until his recent illness. He loved to serve his community, especially first responders and law enforcement, by his making his own beautifully cooked meals and serving during special occasions throughout the years. His talents were abounding. There wasn't anything James couldn't do when he set his mind to. He was an excellent cook and host, but his true passion was work. James was a true businessman and will forever be remember as an outstanding contributor to progress and community support.
A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 5pm - 7pm and again on Thursday, May 9th from 11am - 12pm, with a funeral chapel service to begin at 12pm, and burial to follow, all at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN.
