Nelda Eileen Pinkerton, age 91, was born November 6, 1932, in Grand Junction, CO, to Ella & Dell Pinkerton. She passed peacefully from this life into the arms of her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2024. She graduated from Grand Junction High School, class of 1950. Nelda married Allen Cox, November 23, 1950, at the Grand Junction First Assembly of God Church.
Nelda & Allen attended Central Bible College, in Springfield MO, and then went into the Ministry through the Assembly of God denomination. They pastored churches in Salt Lake City, UT, and worked as missionaries with the Native Americans in Williams, AZ. Moving into Southern California, they pastored and co-pastored churches in Long Beach, Corona, Pomona, Anaheim and Santa Ana. To this union was born, a son, Larry Allen, in 1952, and a daughter, Kathy Eileen, in 1955. In 1974, Nelda married Dr. Jose Limeres. In 2014, she married Truman Brashear.
Nelda was an accomplished pianist, talented artist and poet. She loved flowers, especially roses and enjoyed playing games with her family. Nelda was truly a Woman of God and a Prayer Warrior. Nelda worked many years as a Christian Counselor, and she spent her life in service to God. Her passion was loving others. Nelda touched many lives throughout her life and will be remembered fondly by all those who were blessed to know her.
Nelda is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Kathy (Daniel); stepdaughter, Rosanne (Tim); four grandchildren, Dana (Brian), Alexandra (Seth), Jennifer (Scott) and Michael; five great-grandchildren, Kailee, Dylan, Tenaya, Wyatt and Julian. Her son, Larry, preceded her in death.
