He attended Bridges Chapel Church of God and was a Tool and Die Maker by trade. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the drums, and Greeneville High School Football.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Southerland Gilliam; daughters, Elizabeth Anderson (Michael) and Hannah Gilliam of Greeneville, and Haley Gilliam (Trenton Ledford) of Asheville; grandchildren, Tripp and Zion Anderson; brother, Ricky Gilliam; sister, Gayle Fields (Jim) all of Greeneville and sister, Carol Jane Walls (Jeff) of Limestone; a special aunt, Ruth Gilliam; special cousins, Wade and Melinda Gilliam of Greeneville and Rodney Gilliam of Baltimore; and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Margie Gilliam; grandson, Little Sam; special uncle, Earl Gilliam; special cousin, Keith Gilliam; and best friend, Brian Fields, all of Greeneville.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Bobby Hollingsworth will officiate.
Interment will be conducted 11:00 am Friday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
