Anne Ward McGee passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 10th, 2024. Anne was born August 15th, 1948, in Greensboro NC to the late Thomas Howard Ward Jr., father and surviving mother, Mary Bett Harsh.
Left to cherish her memory is her long time significant other Jim Worrell, of the home, her sister Melody Vilenon (Paul) of Winter Haven Florida, niece, Amy Wenger and great nephew, Josh Wenger, a very talented artist who was extra special to Anne. Anne also leaves behind her very beloved cat, Baby.
Anne was preceded in death by her son, Joey Oldham and her daughter, Leigh Seabolt.
Graduating from Grimsley High School class of 1966, she lived her entire life in Greensboro, NC, never living more than 10 miles from her birthplace. Anne retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. and was then employed for several years by Guilford County Sherrif’s Department.
She was a long-time active member of Buffalo Presbyterian Church and the Elk’s Club.
Anne was a loving and compassionate person. She was a caregiver to her 93-year-old mother, who resides in an assisted living facility in Greensboro. Anne was a big Carolina fan and a Trump supporter. One of her favorite things to do was to spend time with a group of ladies known as “The Village of LDI.”
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held Saturday June 1st at 2323 Hiawatha Dr. Greensboro NC from 4pm-until.
Anne and her beautiful blue eyes will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
